Orca has a load of gas. Not just in Earlham for the data centre power but also in the mid north sea which has just jumped in value by 20%.

Mike, what do you mean by it being only a potential? Also, i can't see how the CLN holders can make money by shorting ORCA when the conversion price is fixed at 13.5p??? I think this has been a great way to access funds without going to rip off brokers who only think of their clients and NOT the issuer.

I would imagine Steve Brown would be very happy with the new mechanism. I can't understand why the Orca sp is off after that news. If people were expecting a reduction or removal of EPL then that would have been of no benefit to Orca, or maybe a little in first years of production. This new mechanism is going to operate as a true windfall tax with decent trigger prices for both oil and gas.

But great for Orca when they are producing!

Well found. Both the gas and oil prices for the new mechanism are FANTASTIC for the Orcadian gas and oil projects!!!! God knows why the sp has come off. It should be rocketing skywards.

Greener, you're wrong in suggesting that Steve is making something out of nothing. This company is involved in FIVE licences across both gas and oil and has 2 carrried interests. In an age where licence interests are limited thanks to government ineptitude and lack of foresight Orcadian is in a good position to benefit from a change in sentiment. Also, Ping are moving forward with the Pilot licence so that will spring some cash in the not to distant future.

Sham, looking at the time of the delayed trades, most of them were buys earlier in the day.

He did say that increasing production would be easy. So, if the demand was there, so could be the production and then cash and hopefully profit!!!

I listened to the interview. CF sounds very upbeat about his company - as you'd expect. The prospects sound positive with a good story for insurance companies. Surprised that the take up is not quicker.
