....the only important thing is whether Edenville want to stay in coal or leave coal behind.

The question has to be asked, does Africa continue down the coal route knowing that it will eventually have to engage with renewable energy, or does it fade out of coal now (over a number of years) and begin engaging more heavily in renewables?

From kibos perspective it looks like they are fading out of coal sooner and going with renewables sooner.

Does kibos announcement pile the pressure on Edenville's BoD to make a decision?

Whatever Edenville are up to at the moment, there appears to be very little interest here.

If Edenville sell, it will be for the amount that someone else thinks it is worth. Edenville can incorporate all the money spent in the price if they want, but if no one wants to pay it then they will have to lower price until a buyer sees value in it.

NvS didn't explicitly state it but he said something along the lines of coal is not the future for many reasons. He said something of that nature a couple of times in the interview.

They said they were looking at other assets

So my own opinion is they know coal is not Edenville's future. I imagine at the moment they are looking for a small rare earth minerals company somewhere in Africa that already owns mining licences. Knowing what they have been through, the money they have spent surely they can be thinking of starting from scratch again?

Aerial, I'm not going to argue with you today.
You and all that read it know full well I stated a few weeks ago about becoming a cash shell, new name and strategy for Edenville. That I said disposing of the mine was now a very real option.

I had faith when I bought in. Rufus destroyed that faith with the RNSs he put his name to, Alistair restored some faith but the lack of Comms is pitiful and I've no faith now.

Agree GW, NvS pretty much stated coal was not the future for Edenville.

It now a case to see what Edenville are going to do with their coal. Like I said, selling it off seems to be even closer with kibos announcement

Of course, if Edenville are walking away from coal, then there may not be any handover at all. If no one wants to buy an African coal mine, will be interesting to see if kibo find a buyer.

Coal will at best be a very small part of Edenville's future portfolio. At best they will simply own the licences whilst others do all the work. Although Edenville selling the mine and licences is a very real option, and we have just seen kibo announce the disposal of their coal operations.

I'm expecting a sell off of coal operations, cash shell, new name, new investment strategy here for Edenville. It seems kibo can move forward but for some reason Edenville can't or won't announce what is happening next with the company. It's very disappointing that Edenville's BoD remain silent for so long, we all know that the results can't contain new information, so unless they announce something pre results, the results will just be a statement of fact.

Good luck all, exciting times ahead but my faith in the BoD here has evaporated. I had high hopes that Alistair would change things around, then NvS and now Tony, but still silence from them all. Disappointed to say the least.

Bit after hours print

It will be interesting to see if we get another £95k trade going through this week. With the price dropping my thoughts turn to whether we'll get an after hours report of another big sell churning those placement shares.
