Having read lots on this BB, I must thank all those who have posted.
I'm in now!
Anyone care to comment?
I've been looking at these for some time as an alternative to buying individual shares. Why do they issue new shares so often though?
all was looking blue, until the lockdown announcement.
Nat West and Lloyds results point to some green shoots in the UK economy. Barclays have the international investment wing that keeps the ship well afloat.
Only thing that will now give a boost, is positive news on vaccine.
The Tier 1 Cap ratio is over 14% which is quite high and probably allows for dividend payout. Share price is depressed with 0% dividend. Many funds cannot buy 0% yielding shares, so any recommencement of dividend should cause a rise in SP. Mind you, NWG seem to have a higher Tier 1 Cap ration - perhaps slightly higher than 16%, so the prospect of a return to shareholders here could also increase their SP. Their results are out next Friday morning. Fingers crossed again.
Barclays were good. If NWG are also good, then summer could be here as one swallow does not a summer make, but two?????
I don't understand, given the spectacular results from the US and Swiss Investment Banks. Fair enough, UK could be a drag, but if the investment wing is good, the fear must be that Barclays would be a take over target from one of the giant banks???
