I get where you’re coming from, and you’re right about one thing - plain speech-to-text for police interviews isn’t new.

That’s not what excites me either.

But I think you’re slightly missing what they’re actually being asked to build here.

The hard part in policing (and defence) isn’t turning audio into words. It’s turning legally sensitive, PACE-governed material into something that’s usable, consistent, auditable and safe to rely on in a justice system without creating disclosure or appeal risks.

That’s a completely different problem.

Anyone can do transcription. Very few systems can:

understand interview structure

separate evidential material from noise

produce consistent, defensible summaries

and do it in a sovereign, controlled environment that UK police and courts can actually use

Getting inside a live PACE workflow with real data and legal oversight is incredibly hard. Once that’s cracked, it scales to every force, NCA, Home Office and, frankly, defence intelligence too.

This isn’t ALRT pivoting into being a police SaaS company. It’s them proving they can handle the hardest type of human-generated data there is and turn it into structured, legally safe intelligence. That same pipeline is what defence and security actually need.

So yeah, if this was just “we built a dictation tool”, I’d be disappointed too. But that’s not what this is.

They walked the share price down using the shorter as cover. Good opportunity to make some money on the trading volume!

I think people are overestimating the impact of retail here. We’re a minority – we can’t meaningfully move the price unless the institutions allow it.

What you’re seeing is institutions building positions ahead of a raise. They don’t want this running away into 4p–8p territory before they’ve secured their allocations, because that eats into their upside.

The best approach is to recognise what’s going on, stay patient, and let the bookbuild play out. Once institutions are set, they’ll want momentum on their side – and that’s when the real re-rate comes.

Well... US ones. UK ones are a different breed. Maybe why they are pursuing this.

Fair point on bureaucracy, but that’s why ALRT exists.

They’re not trying to be another MOD department, they’re a sovereign integrator already working with the MOD and hyperscaler tech.

The EMP scenario is extreme, but governments aren’t cutting cyber/AI budgets because of it. In fact, it’s the opposite. Rising defence spend + sovereign AI = momentum that goes way beyond hype.

I don't think this is momentum yet. I think we will see that next year.

1. Government Strategy (Defence Industrial Strategy 2025 – Making Defence an Engine for Growth)

Calls explicitly for sovereign capability in digital, AI, and cyber.

Wants to reduce reliance on foreign primes / hyperscalers.

Sets targets for SME integration into defence supply chain.

Recognises “critical dependencies” on Big Tech as a national security risk.

👉 Translation: The UK is officially saying: we need a sovereign AI backbone, integrated with hyperscalers but not dependent on them.

2. Parliamentary Committees (e.g. House of Lords, Defence Select, NICC)

Lord Houghton (now ALRT Chair) sat on the committees warning about digital sovereignty gaps.

Evidence sessions repeatedly flagged risks of Palantir-style lock-in and lack of UK-owned infrastructure.

Recommended public-private partnership vehicles to anchor sovereign capability.

👉 Translation: The same people shaping policy are now literally sitting inside ALRT.

3. ALRT’s White Paper (The Hidden Front Line, Sep 2025)

Directly references the same issues: dependency on Big Tech, sovereign independence, AI resilience.

Positions ALRT/Whitespace JV as the “sovereign anchor” — i.e. the exact role the Government reports say is missing.

States their role is not to replace hyperscalers but to integrate them safely for MOD and allies.

👉 Translation: ALRT is presenting itself as the delivery mechanism for the gap government reports already admit exists.

Government reports = “We need sovereign AI + digital resilience, but don’t have it.”

Committees (Houghton etc.) = “We must fix this — here’s the framework.”

ALRT white paper = “We are the sovereign anchor you’re describing. Plug us in.”

⚡ In other words: the white paper is basically a commercial mirror of the government’s own strategy documents. It positions ALRT as the company that fulfils the policy intent already written into official UK defence/industrial policy.

Could they fail to execute? 100%. But I don't think there is another stock on the market that could have the upside that this have should they deliver their strategic plan.

If you put this side by side with the ALRT strategic plan:

I think the £60million placing next year will be to acquire Whitespace and ramp up engineering.

I agree, not saying it's by accident. But this market is going to be having billions thrown into it. Billions that has to be deployed.

There is so much dry powder in funds at the minute, and a lot of it is moving to defence tech.

I think people will be raising 8 figures on ideas.

The pedigree we have here though, is a cut above.

I have been running software companies for the last 15 years. Been through raises, sold a business - and have a good grasp on the tech ecosystem.

This has potential to be successful by accident. The defence market is booming, with billions flooding into the market. The AI market is the same (Although somewhat bubble-esque).

Businesses at the intersection of both are going to be trading at premium multiples, and access to capital is going to be easy.

Of course, competition is going to exist - but try getting into the rooms ALRT is getting into from a standing start. It would take years.

It sounds like they are moving fast from a technical perspective too, which many larger incumbents will not do.

I think we could race to £250million - £350million market cap over the next 3 - 6 months.

I also think the raise next year will be to acquire Whitespace, along with further dev cap to build the engineering team.

The fact the CTO has moved across speaks volumes.

They (Whitespace) also owe £1million+ to HMRC, and were/are trying to raise a Series A round.

If ALRT end up acquiring Whitespace, then this is going to fly.

I listed vehicle, already embedding in the right places, with a very strong board.

Keep throwing around “placing” like it’s automatically a bad thing. Let’s be realistic - yes, there could be a placing. But it wouldn’t be for survival funding.

Whitespace was already looking at a Series A raise. They had/have low cash reserves and HMRC chasing arrears. That makes a straight VC raise harder, but it also makes a merger or acquisition with ALRT the obvious route forward. The CTO has already moved across, the tech (Collective OS) is embedded in classified MoD environments, and the partnership is central to ALRT’s first sovereign AI product.

So if ALRT did a placing, it would almost certainly be to bring Whitespace fully in-house. That would be a strategic, value-accretive move:

– ALRT gets 100% control of the sovereign AI stack.

– Delivery accelerates because the teams are aligned under one roof.

– Investors get clarity that the platform is fully owned, not just partnered.

That’s not dilution in the bad sense. That’s consolidation and growth - exactly how you build the UK’s sovereign answer to Palantir.

Zoom out and make a bet, or stop posting nonsense.

This latest round is a massive step up from Anduril’s prior $8.5 billion valuation set in December 2022. The company reportedly told investors that it had doubled revenue to around $500 million last year, which would mean the current valuation is set at a 28x multiple. This is high by many standards for late-stage startups, but especially so for traditional defense companies: Lockheed Martin’s revenue multiple is about 1.9x, based on its current valuation and last year’s revenues, while Boeing’s is 1.3x. Albeit those lower multiples are on revenues that are billions of dollars higher: Lockheed Martin brought in $67.6 billion in 2023, and Boeing’s revenues were nearly $78 billion for 2023.

Palantir is trading at a much higher multiple.

The next 5 years, AI and Defence will be where a lot of the money flows, and it's going to lead to massively inflated multiples.

I am in defence stocks, AI stocks - this one just happens to bring both together.

Will it fly?

All depends on execution - and from what I can see, the team they are building have a track record of doing just that.

Google Cloud won a £400m contract (Sept 2025) from the UK MoD to provide a sovereign cloud capability — secure cloud infrastructure, AI, and data analytics.

This ties directly into the UK’s 2025 Strategic Defence Review focus on digital sovereignty and AI in defence.
