I don`t think newbies quite realise what an amazing opportunity they have! Most LTH have had to average down as best they can, if I could buy in now at these prices with my original Capital?

Shorters exist wherever a company is overvalued and have been with us en-route to 50p and back down. Going forward our Defense against them is solid commercial progress with supply agreements. Even then, if the SP spikes dramatically they will return knowing the market must adjust. As long as it remains lawful we will have shorters sadly.
Also let’s not forget the many individuals who trade in QFI stock to build their holding or average down, they both have a similar effect as they sell stock around the peaks.

Tidetime , I’m not so sure about that. Yes Utah has potential but it’s a long way from producing meaningful commercial quantities and as yet has no identified market or customers. The importance of Utah depends on each investors preferences. To me, Morocco has so much more to offer us in real short term meaningful commercial income compared to Utah, we could have full commercial contracts there late this year. Now add MSC to the mix and perhaps another development elsewhere and you have a very firm foundation under our company and it’s SP.
Utah is well worth the effort to see where it goes, but it’s far from being pivotal to our progress, nowhere near it imo.

We do not have a stake in the Utah project, it’s 100% owned and run by Greenfield under licence from PQE. Our “stake” is yet to be defined and if tests work well quantified. At present we are observers with an MoU to carry out some tests, that’s it. Our board therefore have nothing to say in legal terms on the progress of the Utah development until such time as we get invited on to site with our equipment.

QFI have no stake in the UTAH project so what can they update us on? Anyone expecting an RNS for the delivery of samples expects too much tbh. We should certainly be informed of the results of these tests and future plans thereafter.

QFI will not be "For Sale" any time soon. The larger holders have, like us, been through the mill and taken all the risk, why should they want to sell early at a fraction of what they know the company can achieve? They`re large holders for a reason.
QFI have big plans of their own given a fair wind, remember the bunkers business they told us about? This may be linked with the MSC developments and future supply contracts. Why stick to a simple licence deal when Toll or Merchant mode is possible with a suitable partner, much greater earning potential. Imagine if MSAR/BioMSAR become the fuels of choice in the Industry and QFI + partner are major fuel suppliers? A cursory look at Global marine fuel consumption should show why they are considering it, cut out the middle man where possible!

When investors believe QFI going commercial is likely, that`s when I think the SP will burst upward. You cant struggle for 10 years producing nothing but disappointment and still expect the market to bounce up on potential, been there and done that. Contracts to commence sea trials with MSC will likely be that major moment, and we should have these agreements probably late Q2 according to Jason`s video. Thereafter trial outcomes should be positive, we know it works very well, they are a keen partner and our fuel fits with their future fuels strategy, so it`s game on this year I would say for sure. Add in Morocco later in the year and Christmas 2021 could be rather special. I see Utah as a later development into 2022 by the time they organise and fund a new 10k bpd facility. An end-user is still far from clear.

From memory that period was mostly driven by the former Chair and his questionable RNS`s, "imminent and substantial" come to mind. We subsequently discovered they were far from imminent and despite a hard slog by Mike and Jason, we didn`t get there so no, we were seriously over-valued for what the board knew was real on the ground.

to a sustained SP rise is tangible progress on several projects. QFI has experienced the speculative bubble that took us to 50p, a ridiculous value at that time and one I`m sure never to be repeated. If the board and team can deliver real progress this year, back up their intentions with results, then 2021 should see a solid recovery underpinned by several commercial contract opportunities.

Fair point, There is now less risk in QFI than prior to the MSC news. Derisking is not the removal of ALL risk.

Is QFI derisked? Absolutely not and I think the poster who used that phrase understands it too. Comparatively derisked was maybe a better term, I can relate to that as prior to the MSC RNS our options going forward were limited. MSC is huge if it works and it should work especially in the current IMO climate of regs and corporate culture of environmental improvement for the industry.
A key to being a successful investor is buying in when risk is still apparently high according to the wider market, but your research and knowledge of the company and its prospects can help in getting in at the right time. It seems rather obvious to say that this is such a time and opportunity. Risk is still an issue until commercial deals are struck, but the current pathway is about as good as we`ve ever had, only short term roadblock is likely effects of Covid.

Couple of reasons. Firstly the Maersk trial produced an interim LONO only, not enough hours to issue a full LONO and second, from what I can see it was on a different engine (the RT Flex) whereas the new trial may be on the WinGD Flex, both 2-stroke but not identical it would seem.

Absolutely, I feel for anyone who is genuinely in that position. 10p is well within reach in the foreseeable future.
