Firering Strategic Minerals: From explorer to producer. Watch the video here.
Do you know I completely overlooked the past directorship list. Yes very relevant indeed and thanks for pointing that out.
Extract from the Accounts: "The Group’s business model has been developed and refined over the past year and is now set to concentrate on developing as an organisation expert in design, specification and distribution of specialist electronic components and systems in markets with growth opportunities." Not sure how this appointment fits the development plan. Current directorships as listed in the RNS appears to be small private companies the majority involved in real estate and APC has absolutely no synergy with Kwik-Fit where his story began.
Cockney, the disclosures under rule 17 at the foot of the RNS release mention neither Bidco or Orbis as past or present directorships? There are several property services companies listed which may offer opportunities for LED lighting but strange these other two aren't mentioned.
Stuart Hawthorne has almost doubled his holding since the 2016 accounts! Newboy - If you contact the Company I am sure you will get invited.
Posted by AISHAH. Techinvest finish their write up with: "The past twelve months have been extremely challenging for APC, but the actions taken by management during that time have concentrated the business on a suite of complementary core activities where there are good growth prospects. We made the shares a New Buy at 9.12p in February 2016. While it is always difficult to get the timing right with a recovery stock of this type, we think the refocused business looks exceptional value at current levels. Continue to buy"
Jim: Forget Electrocomponents Premier etc they are mainly catalogue based sellers, huge by comparison. APC are in a small group of very specialist technical distributors. They design products in to systems and quite often end up the only approved supplier. In the UK there are several companies doing the same thing but judging from APC's line card not as diverse or with the same amount of technicality. I would hazard a guess that a large multi liner from the US wanting an established UK presence might come along. Just snapping up a turn-key distribution operation on the cheap would be worth todays MC alone. If it happens it will be before a major swing in the £/$ relationship or before an active broker starts following the stock. Once that happens I think the SP will start to rise hence sooner than later if a takeover offer is being considered. But, the longer interest rates remain low and if the FTSE continues its climb maybe a shortage of stock will push more investors into AIM stocks. Everything is when it comes to investments cyclical and maybe APC is due another rally like 3 years ago. All IMHO of course and I have been proved wrong more times than right.
Fred: Very much so as the HO costs would go at a stroke. No HO costs - big bottom line increase would really gear up the acquired value. Almost something for nothing but not at this price I hope.
Only just realised that this is posted on the Company website Investors section.
Vino: Maybe you are correct in assuming it is a PI, who knows. You say that the II's appear to be on-board with the Company plans but there's the rub. They obviously know of the Company plans and us PI's do not! Do you not think that the Broker should be putting something out there? Until everyone is up to speed on the Company plan over the next two or three years I believe nothing much will happen to the SP unless major news breaks. Just my opinion. To many unknowns at the moment. Hopefully the new Chairman will correct this vacuum.
Looking at the trades since the GC sale and, imagining the trades made at the mid price to be buys, I suspect the MM's to be holding around half a million shares. This is dropping very quickly and they are probably trying to top up with the seller possibly finished. No doubt in my mind the changes at the company are beginning to reap rewards and I think we can look forward to once again testing that 10p glass ceiling in 2017. Compliments of the season to everyone.
Good Morning jim. Yes, sometime during the night they bumped the price so that this would show black when it was entered, probably 23.59hrs. As you say frightened that a blue might stop the sellers. Maybe wishful thinking but is good news around the corner?
Jim/Fred funny trading of late. Yes but specifically since Stockdale became house broker. Strange setup, owned by Somer Ltd a Bermuda based company. Any of your scenarios could pan out and looking at deals carried out by Stockdale a few were with similar sized technology and component companies. Cantor issued regular analyst notes but only to their clients. Since they have been replaced zilch. Just cannot get my head around the appointment of Stockdale. Whoever becomes the new Chairman needs to address this issue pdq.
Thanks. I have premium but not L2 - too thick to understand it!
Jim: does L2 say who MM's concerned are?
Point taken. I think a huge buy this week followed by a steady rise would convince me.
The decks appear to have been cleared and looking forward APC should do very well with the streamlined business. To any outsider they now have a clear identity and are much more transparent for anyone considering an investment. I am not surprised at the SP fall and maybe I am beginning to think that there may be some truth in Jim's view on a shorting conspiracy. But, until we get some numbers thrown into the ring for F17 it's anyones guess.
At last! Although it appears to be still under construction, it is a good indication of things to come. Our persistent seller seems to have taken a break and with the MM's fully loaded perhaps tomorrows results announcement may initiate a rise in the SP. Hopefully we may get an analyst or two reporting on the results but either way the new honed company should start to produce reasonable profits from here on. If the forecast for F17 is say a million before tax then we should see a MC of 8p fairly quickly based on the numbers thrown out in the trading update. But hey, his is AIM remember and any respect has to be earned.
Justfacts: You sound very confident that the credit problems are behind APC. A distributor cannot function without paying its franchisers so the fact that revenue is holding up would indicate this is true. So you think the SP will double 6 months? I believe that revenue and profit will increase organically but the City will take a lot of persuading that the problems of the past are over. Given a fair wind I can see maybe 10p but I hope that you are a better judge than me. The biggest problem IMO is that we have no Stockbroker following us.
very light today as it was one day before the trading update on December 1st. Dare we hope for more news ahead of Wednesday?
Cockney: I remember you were a regular contributor on this board before the plethora of tampers moved in and it is good to see you back. I agree with your comments regarding more substance needed in RNS but only if the release is genuinely newsworthy. Also once a company starts a news campaig regardless of how boring it does need to continue otherwise it becomes counter productive. I noticed that Redleaf had disappeared from the contact list on the most recent RNS. No great loss there IMO but someone with some PR knowledge of AIM would make a good replacement.
