I am ok with my loss about £20,000 and happy to write it off if it was a genuine failure . but i do feel like others that it could have been an orchestrated fraud especially when it was rushed through so quickly and other options where dismissed plus MA never got a chance to turn things round.
I went through the FCA website and the links relating to financial misconduct and due to the answers I gave it was not something that was within the scope of the FCA to deal with and so the eventual link on their site after answering questions referred me to the Serious Fraud Office.
Like many others on here some more information from the BOD about why MA and other options were dismissed would have put our minds at rest.

This financial loss to shareholders needs to be investigated by the authorities and any wrongdoing punished severely otherwise this type of fraud will continue.
Less than 12 months ago Debenhams shareholders were told they had financial support from bankers and lenders to last them until 2020.
It appears that the directors deliberately loaded the company up with expensive debt with the purpose to steal the companies assets from the shareholders and frustrate the advances of Mile Ashley.
Seems like they acted illegally and fraudulently.
Has anybody on here made a complaint to the regulatory authorities or know how to do this ?

Despite the potential loss of £150,000,000 the shares in Sports direct International have risen slightly today. This is a crazy world we live in. You would expect a company that is about to lose this much money would have a big drop in share price.
My hope is that if there is some wrong doing by the BOD that they are brought to justice and not just let off with a slap on the wrist.
Businesses are started with the help of shareholders funds and this is entrusted to Directors who you expect to do their best for them.
I understand they have to balance their responsibilities and have fiduciary duties but we don't seem to have any powerful regulatory body to police them in this country.
In the USA the system is much more strict and penalties a lot harsher in the event of wrongdoing.

Does anyone know how to trade Denehams Debt or even buy it ..I use Charles Schwab and also Interactive Brokers but don't know how to find out to buy it .
If it goes into prepack does any of the tradeable debt qualify for the proposed debt for equity swap as if so i would love to hold share in a debt free and streamlined Debenhams

Might now be a good time to sell shares and buy the bonds ? Only problem is I can’t find how to buy them on Charles Schwab or Interactive brokers

What is the lowest price he could pay if he did bid? Could he offer shares in Sports Direct to buy Debenhams. I would like that better than getting nothing back.

Smartie 2 ... The reason I stay invested is I see positive things from shops that are still trading.. Harry Ramsdens opening in stores not sure they would take space and incur costs if they thought it was going into admin.. Virtually daily marketing emails for online sales.. larger city stores looking very good clean and busy ...my own town store Southport had a total repaint outside in the last few months.. I also understand the company owns this store and it is a training store not the busiest but in a sleepy town like Southport it has a good customer base.. I also believe cost cutting and clearing out the loss making stores will enable this company to be turned around..

Smartie2.... I always was suspicious about the value of the trades in this company .. lots and lots of VERY SMALL value ones.. looks like school kids playing the market with their pocket money .. I might find it depressing when I see several larger £10,000 + sells
Right now I have over £20,000 invested here it may be a gamble but so what if I lose I lose but if I win it could be a nice gain. If people can’t afford to lose everything don’t invest.

Does anyone know anything about the sale of Newcastle United being agreed.. ?

If this happens maybe that is the reason the take over rumour is circulating?

For your information I am a shareholder so not trying to ramp the shares just asking a question based on gossip I heard and but i can't vouch for the source of the gossip so don't take it for certain that that is happening .

Am trying to place buy orders with Interactive Brokers and the deals are not going thorough ..I got the first order through immediately the second and third at higher limits not going through..I keep raising the price limit to above indicated price and still not going through. Anyone any idea why this should happen ?

I was in the Southport Store this weekend and found it to be depressing and not much footfall. The store is so old and looks dirty with cheap tat for sale as soon as you enter the store .. They have had scaffolding up out side for months and gave it a lick of paint but the men’s section on the ground floor looks dull.. always the same dull place.. Saying that the whole of Southport town centre is dying and the once famous Lord street now has 30 empty shops .. plus some of the empty shops are being replaced by coffee shops and charity shops.

Lots of doubt that could be resolved with better communication Possibly a management buyout? This is a lottery but I am holding on to the end as already lost too much

Based on the company figures this does appear too low a share price. With the low price and shorters very active either they are very brave or stupid or know something shareholders don’t know. The longer the price keeps dropping the more I think they know something we don’t .. Just my niggling thought

This morning scaffolding was put up outside the whole front of the Southport Debenhams store which is in a prime location ..maybe this one is getting a make over ..It is an old store and very drab inside..Also Mike Ashleys Sports Direct has a large store in a secondary location where shops never last for a long period in business and maybe this could be start of a merger of the 2 businesses..prevoulsy i thought the Southport store should close cos it was so dreary and no where as pleasant as the larger modern stores.

I was a regular at these restaurants 4 members of the family had shares and with the 25% discount we went every week sometimes groups of 10 of us ..since they raised the minimum number of shares required we sold up and never go to the restaurants now ..with lots of other restaurants offering discounts to no shareholders it is easier and cheaper to to go there for a good value meal.

IMO...Great long term potential.... put some away for the kids....like the funds ideas..and most of all trust Woodford to get things right most of the time...
