I sold out today. This was on my spreadbet though so de-risked. Been a great week and I thought il quit when I’m ahead. Not that I’m expecting it to drop but could be some profit taking at some point.
How’s your gold doing?
We were going swimmingly and I’ve just checked in hoping we broke but no luck yet.
Same for IAG really, something spooked the markets at midday which is before the US opens.
Wasn’t a bad day but looked to be a very good day.
We are approaching the ATH which is showing at 388. Obviously this has all been adjusted post rights issue etc. just thought it was interesting seeing it on this chart. Something to note for people looking for entries that it may bounce off that and then go again.
However, it may not have any standing whatsoever.
If you don’t like it, scroll past. This is a community and there are a lot of people who value what others have to say. There’s only so much you can talk about RR.
We’re all here to make money and it’s nice to get some perspective and others opinions. Doing well is relative to themselves. Not everybody here is multi millionaires and has bundles of spare money to show off about.
I wish you every success in your bid to hold till £11. Part of my point is this is now currently realised profit and sometimes walking away can be difficult. At what point do you stop becoming a lth… death?
Anyway, if you don’t enjoy other people’s thoughts and conversations just don’t add anything at all and scroll on past.
Thanks
We’ve got 170 left on our mortgage but 66k of that is currently on variable rate so when our fixed rate ends we can then just have one mortgage.
I have contemplated paying the 66k off but then I also think that payments in that are £340 a month so I could probably make more without paying it off.
I suppose it’s because I now know I can and it’s a reality I’m questioning if it’s a wise choice. I also looked at buying another property. So many options 🤷🏻♂️
It’s about 4% but the interest paid from seeing it out is less than the repayment charge.
However, I do have 2 mortgages and the other one is following the base rate which I can pay off with no penalty fee. The idea was when it got to 2025 I could then just have 1 mortgage.
Haha thanks you 2. Il definitely have fomo but at least I ca lower my exposure. Apart from my isa. My last spreadbet position open is IAG which is a very small position anyway.
I’ve got some serious thinking to do now.
I can clearly make money on spreadbet and outperform my isa massively but… I can now pay the house off and do all the building work and have some left over.
When I first started investing I had no real set goal or exit strategy other than to make profits.
Not sure if this is making much sense :)
Yes, it is relative. Your figures are very similar to what mine were. I never talk figures but I will make an exception. I hit approx 64k on rolls yesterday at its highest point but decided to play it out as its profit but had minimum I would not let my profit drop below and that was 50k. I ended up taking just above that before the bell.
Since new year I’ve had a big run with ai and rolls but not without its sh*t times and looking at big deficits.
It’s easy to play with profit but just remember all that the markets do what they want and it can sometimes be difficult to take profit as you think it will continue etc etc.
Have an exit strategy and stick to it.
Enjoy some and invest the rest otherwise Youl be too old to enjoy it. :)
As per my other post. I’ve decided to take my profit today. Obviously wished I’d exited at too yesterday but we’re in uncharted territory so I had to see how it went today. As I’m on spreadbet I didn’t really fancy leaving this over the weekend and it’s nice to have some realised profits.
Remember everyone, yes I have faith in the share price and have actual shares in isa but please remember to take profits and enjoy some of it too.
