Exactly. And the market was warning you to take that figure with a very large pinch of salt. You have to let go of all the nonsense this company has told you. Even after the management have been found out, AIM investors so often cling to the idea that the asset or business is great when in reality it was never up to much. They still want to believe what the snake oil salesmen told them.

Sounds like a lot but not in fact serious money. Very light volume ATM.

We’ve given it 1 week. Time has told. You were wrong. No significant buyer has appeared. There was no rush. Pointing this out did not make me a deramper. Wolfman79 is right - the key events are sale completion via GoI approval and finding out exactly what returning a “significant proportion” of the sale proceeds means. We can allow ourselves to hope that these events will happen but we are kidding ourselves if we think they are as imminent as you do. What I am saying is that SYN is not going to move up in anticipation of these events or of any steps along the way (e.g. receipt of a Lower Tax Withholding Certificate). It will simply respond to them if and when they happen. You would know this if you had history with SYN.

Thanks - I’ve been lucky with my gold and silver miners, maybe because I’ve concentrated on the bigger players. What has stood out like a sore thumb during this precious metals bull market has been the relative underperformance of all the AIM crap in the sector. There is so much played out rubbish on AIM (in every sector). People should run from any company with a track record of shareholder value destruction and unsuccessful reinvention (even if they’re bullish on the commodity involved). Most companies on AIM are dogs that have had their days - it no longer attracts new, interesting, propositions (and hasn’t for years). If I was you I would run from TXP - the bulls say that what could happen here could be mind blowing, but I say not in a good way. Ab76 seems determined to go down with the ship, but you don’t have to. Whatever you do, I hope things work out for the best. I will leave you all in peace now.

I did manage to join the TXP Discord group and I must have hung on in there for almost an hour before they kicked me out. As you say, they know what they want to hear and, to nobody’s surprise, it wasn’t this old goldbug.

Fair points. It is difficult to catch AIM crap like TXP at a point where it is investable. Early Ortoire success was clearly TXP’s sweet spot. In general only the most nimble traders make money out of AIM crap, so BB discussions of the balance of risk and reward need to be searingly honest to be of any help to PIs. Echo chambers like Discord are a trap for the unwary.

I had given up posting here because I felt I wasn’t changing anyone’s mind, but a poster like Ab76 needs a better counterpoint than:

Consider Ab76’s record on both TRIN and TXP and how his almost unshakeable trust in management led him so far astray. And even now he is still hoping to be a Paul Baay apologist (“if Central Block turns out to be the success that many of us hope it will be they’ll deserve congratulation”).

Yes, he alludes to the possibility that Central Block might disappoint. But he clearly doesn’t believe that it will or want others to believe that it will. He really hasn’t learned any lessons at all.

Folk need to realise that while Paul Baay is a problem he is not the problem. The assets are almost certainly not what they are cracked up to be, even Central Block. Ortoire has shown its true colours, CB is next. Do folk want to hang around to find out why Shell was happy to get rid of CB? Or how TXP’s frightening debt pile means that even moderate success at CB won’t recover any significant shareholder value?

If you had any significant history with SYN you would know that it is one that tends to drift downwards in the absence of news. It has just had positive news (delisting rejected) and that generated a decent spike. How imminent is the next significant positive? Not very.

Many of us are no longer interested in what Roland might have to say in a meeting or at the phone. Proposing delisting at the stage he proposed it was a huge red flag. From now on we will judge him by what he is prepared to put in an RNS and if we don’t like it we will take appropriate action. AIM directors are very good at keeping private investors on the hook in ways you can’t touch them for. An RNS is a different matter though.

I think we’ll know from the next few news releases whether Roland has heard us and is trying to be more transparent/offer more reassurance. If he isn’t, I don’t think there will be any point wasting time with dialogue.

Carrot - just out of interest, what did you think was going to propel it to 0.02p before Christmas? That seemed an unrealistic aspiration for a share with a delisting vote hanging over it all last week. Did you think that Roland would see the way the voting was going and maybe withdraw the second resolution?

Not in time for Christmas, Carrot, but that vote at least gives you a chance of getting it at some point.
