There is always tomorrow, but I suspect windows is bang on the money, if you can excuse the pun. All the best to you all.
In defence of all postal workers, I am a senior manager at royal mail. There is not a single site in the UK that is 100% staffed ,as staff leave they have not been replaced in a quest to save money. On average in the UK all distribution and delivery office's are running on 73% staffing levels. That's without holidays. In a nutshell mission impossible until royal mail restart recruiting.
Simx. I probably guessed that not all was well nine months ago. Normally the CWU and royal mail battles last approximately three months. As for the USO, it's there to be monitored by the regulator, with intervention and fines if they wish, in simple non technical terms. In simple terms also, if royal mail wish to drop the USO they have to ask the government if they are in agreement?. If so the government would have to ask all MPs to vote on a change to this in the house of commons. At the moment the board of royal mail are not on the government's Christmas card list. Maybe it will happen when the dust settles in the future. All the best to you all.
Been reading all comments on here with interest. Just to lay my cards on the table and be honest before I comment on the situation at royal mail. I do work for royal mail, and have done so for more than twenty years. I'm also invested with my own money in royal mail, and work in delivery, not management. My first point is yes it's not a great deal but it's endorsed by the union weather it's good bad or ugly. I'm guessing that a no vote will not be any good for myself and most staff and result in carnage across the whole of the workforce in royal mail and uncertainty. A yes vote is not going to make me smile at all, but will bring me more work and worse conditions . But I know when I'm beaten, and rather be employed than not. As for the uso changing to 5 days a week or passing back to the government under some form of administration. This is highly unlikely as when royal mail was privatised, it was made crystal clear and laid down in law that all potential large shareholders will knowingly deliver the USO and same price goes anywhere in the UK. It was also made crystal clear to potential large shareholders that various parts of royal mail that make profit, will be subsidising the loss making parts. IE letter delivery and parceforce some time back. It was also made clear at privatisation that whoever owns royal mail group of companies that they can't pick and choose what parts of the group to buy, sell,or let go bust without the express permission of the of the house's of parliament, full MP vote to dissolve the two laws that holds royal mail together. Which is why royal mail regularly go to the government every six months asking them to desolve the two law's they have to abide by legally. The government say NO TO THEM EVERY SIX MONTHS. Reason being if they do let royal mail of the hook the government would have to clear the mess up . And secondly it would be political suicide for the government in power to withdraw the only laws that keep royal mail as it is today. Without those two important laws royal mail would disappear forever.
I'm guessing protonbull it's just a blip. Most shares are up today. There is no news , and no unusual large buys today to talk about. I could be wrong of course but cbx occasionally rises for no apparent reason then goes back down. All the best to everyone
Alas I agree, I've resigned myself to taking a hit on this one. Just being realistic not gloom and doom. Unless there is a magic rabbit out of the hat, there have been to many chances missed. I agree with windows and Cupid now. More cash going out than in unfortunately. It's been a interesting investment but always risky. All the best to everyone.
Happy Xmas to all, even windows . Just finished watching Scrooge, he starts a bit bitter and twisted, but mellows with time. Always looking forward to next year and all the usual suspects and banter. All have a great Xmas and a happy new year. All the best, happy Xmas amran.
No fear I'm here windows. Just had a quick look at me cbx investment for the first time in 3 months. Yep it's not looking rose gold at the moment, admittedly, hopefully the merger/takeover may stimulate some interest. I'm a good 40 k down on this one, but okay with all me other pies. Hopefully something good will come up with this one, I'll just leave me cbx to do what it wants to , no point piling big chunks into the market at the moment for small change. Hope everyone is well and in good health and spirits. All the best to the usual suspects ,Amol ,dodge, windows.
AM01 you have activated the gloom and doom brigade, not sure where the rest of them are hiding. Nice to see there are still pi's in the game, and welcome all. As you will find out there is the usual bash cbx brigade on here. Apparently there motivation is to save the world of investors from ourselves. As AM01 will tell you, they are fun to read with some of there dribble. Beats watching EastEnders and great stories and it's free to. Or maybe just maybe they have lost a few quid and just can't let it go. As for cbx despite there rantings, I'm happy with the best intentions of a merger. It can only be good for all concerned. Cbx a canary both get something from each other. LSE listing and shop's for cbx. AM01 was almost spot on with the merger/takeover and time frame. AM01 opinions making sense to me compared to the gloom and doom brigade, all you get from them is sell sell sell sell and don't buy. All the best to everyone even the gloom and doom brigade. PS anymore fictional storytelling welcome.
All valid points from everyone. All shares are a Risk. I personally am willing to go with it, I think there will be plenty of time for the what iffs, you know what I mean. Sometime well before Xmas last year I sold some royal mail shares for £5.80 now they are £1.80ish. how lucky is that! . There was no bit of information I had apart from a bit of common sense, telling me as we emerged from Corona virus that the parcel delivery gravy train bubble would burst,. I was lucky on that one. What I'm trying to say is that there is no certainty in this world at the moment,so all deals are a Risk. But no risk means 3% in a ISA. PS I don't mind admitting I've lost money allover the shop, but luckily I'm well up still, after donkey year's of trading. Anyone who has never lost is probably telling porkie pies. All the best to everyone.
Good morning all. Not sure how long these buyout,s take. Stating the obvious but it sounds like a lot of the arrangements have been worked out already long before we became aware of it. And we all know how long corporate solicitors take, snail speed. But I'm sure if it is a good to go, it's in everyone's interest to conclude we'll before the Christmas present buying frenzy. So as an investor I'm guessing it will be very soon. A small dilution maybe, but if it's liked by the city after they have looked at the potential and more importantly the numbers it will emerge as an excellent opportunity. Like all investors I'm in on speculation with what I know that the rewards outweigh the risks. All the best to everyone.
Always good to hear from you amo1. As you say I'm glad there are people who want to save me from myself ha ha. It brightens my day up with there top class advice, and it's free, just don't realise how lucky we are. All the best to everyone, got to go and make some money now. Lola
No fear I'm here amo1 . Looks like you have woken Bob a job up. Always good to read your thoughts and threads balanced view as always. You got the buyout correct, all be it via a different methodology, well done. still happy to be holding and make my own spend risks. As horrified as Bob will be I've been quietly increasing my holding. I'm sure Bob will want a full account of my reasoning, he will have to make do with his super trading platform,s for the answer. Enough of the leg pulling Bob hope you are doing well. Still seeing long term with this one as a good return. Into shop's and different management style. So long as you can see more good than bad factually it's going to be a good investment. Best I stick my head down now AM01 before I get savaged by the gloom and doom brigade. All the best to everyone.
European great stuff dodge. Just a waiting game now, patience is all is needed. All the best to everyone.
Absolutely agree amran. There is a bigger picture with cbx. As surely as it gets light every day, the more aware customers become with cbx the word is spreading. As it is with other companies watching them with interest to I'm sure. All the best to everyone.
It's unanimous motion in the right direction for cbx despite the constant criticism from some quarters. No debts , selling products with more in the pipeline. The numbers are scarce at the moment but I'm thinking that there is between 35 to 45% product profit on a sale. That's impressive if I have got it Wright. And as some speculate that cbx will be bought out in the future, I agree it will become a target for a buyout sooner or later. SP upwards fingers crossed for all invested good luck. All the best to everyone.
Kindness best , neutral bit of advice from Dodge. Don't be swayed either way, but as dodge says read every scrap of information about cbx ,then sleep on it. Only advice I would give is be 100% sure you want to. Can you afford to take a big loss. Would it play on your mind if it goes wrong?. If it's yes to any of the above don't invest. All the best for you.
Here we go all let's see what happens this week. Good luck to all.
Roland rat here. I'm still positive I'm on to a winner here, and glad so many are still upbeat about cbx. Every share investment is a gamble on the size of a company at the start. I'm in very low and could of been out a fair few times but I am sitting firm and with what I've seen its a matter of time before it starts climbing with all that's in the pipeline. In my opinion everything is in place to make this a good investment. If I'm wrong then that's my problem I move on,but get it right and speculate that is what we all do, the SP will rise big time or they will be snapped up by a larger company in which case we win again. Easy to criticize everything they do, but they have been consistently doing well without chucking cash around and keeping costs to a minimum. They have a timeline and they are sticking to it despite the constant criticism from some people, that impresses me that they won't be bullied into rash decisions. All the best to everyone and have a good weekend.
If anyone really had that answer as to why , they would be very clever and not post it here for us mere mortals to read. I'm full of ideas but like most people get the guessing game wrong 99% of the time. But I do know plenty bought just above a penny and sold today above two pence doubling there money. Take my hat of to them taking the opportunity to do so. All the best to everyone.
