THE MOST OPTIMISED SOLUTION:
“Most DMS processors on the market today are not dedicated to this application, requiring added circuitry to perform other system functions that consumes more power, occupies more board space and doesn’t allow room for on-chip SDRAM,” said Brian Pluckebaum, automotive product marketing manager at OmniVision. “By focusing the design of our OAX8000 ASIC on entry-level DMS, we were able to create the automotive industry’s most optimized solution.”

A Tesla Model Y fitted with Autopilot finished "a distant second," the group said, to a Cadillac CT6 equipped with Super Cruise, which GM is rolling out to more than 20 vehicles - including its new Hummer electric pickup truck - over the next three years.

After quietly advancing its DMS technology development roadmap over the last few
years, Seeing Machines is now stepping up its marketing to the industry highlighting
that it not only has the highest performance DMS at the lowest processing cost but
also, unlike all other DMS suppliers, it is offering this solution to OEM customers in
almost every possible configuration, integration and supply chain route to market.
As well as the embedded software solution, such as that announced today, it offers
DMS on a standalone chip (Xilinx FPGA FOVIO chip where there are already several
major customers) as well as licenses for ASIC integration (first MOU signed last
week). We see the development of its strategy to offer its DMS solution in all ways
to all customers as a particularly important development, and will no doubt enable
it to win a significant share of this market.

I thought this bit was interesting from Viktor:
Impatient & short term focused stock market:
Smart Eye’s first design wins with new customers are in general worth a lot more than what meets the eye as they are platform based. The platforms will usually (although not automatically) yield additional new car models for every year over the platforms’ lives of about 10 years. In addition, each car model lives around seven years. For Smart Eye this creates a very foreseeable and stable revenue stream for many years to come as the large switching costs provide solid barriers to entry. The stock market however, as always, only sees the coming few quarters, meaning significant potential for patient, long term investors.
Seeing Machines looks increasingly to have turned around its Fleet business into a high growth cash cow which should drive the Company to profitability, even with conservative expectations. Whilst the cash runway looks tighter on these corrected figures, we note that these do not include any contribution from the Aviation sector nor any possible financing against the contracted recurring revenues in Fleet. With Seeing Machines’ leading position in real world face and eye tracking increasingly showing huge value creation potential in multiple industries, we continue to believe this is the beginning of the curve for a very exciting technology opportunity and iterate our buy recommendation.
