hi CSDI, not that I know anything, but is it wise to frequently keep swapping everything around, as you picked all those stocks for the high dividend, thought it might have been a good idea to stick to aviva can see it going to £4.50 and good dividend, i will hold my hand up I messed up on that one big time, not sure about gsk, put half my aviva proceeds into tesco, think the rest is going in to my largest holding 25% lloyds, may end up regretting that, but if it continues rising, could possibly double my holding, risky i know but might be worth that risk
good luck with everything, you know a lot more than me, it amazes me all the detailed figures you come out with, i wouldn't have a clue, i just look at the graphs to see how they have done, and try to pick company's that increase their dividend each year

Cheers for that mate, looking at where the charts are right now, seems like there might be some opportunity for growth as well as divi, i usually start off with a batch, then look for dips to increase
how is your restructuring going, is your combined portfolio in the blue ?, mine is now for the first time in 12 months , keep 50% in funds, because i don't trust myself very much lol.

Hi CSDI made a decent profit from aviva, but messed up with that by selling too soon, it shot up in price for a few days, thought i would be clever and sell up, then rebuy at the end of week at a much lower price, but it just kept rising, dam, wish i had held onto them, i will never learn, too expensive to buy back in now i think, been looking at gsk, looking at the charts maybe a good time to get it, what's your thoughts ?

will only go back to av if it gets a big drop, took a nice profit from it, so not complaining, in general things are starting to look a lot better now, lgen are well into profit, saga are rising nicely on the prospect of the ships sailing, , hoping to top up on tesco in batches, need something stable in bad times, been adding to smt trust if it performs as it did n the last year it could double or not, lloyds are by far my biggest holding, and they are starting to rise, but they are very much dependent on the uk economy, vod well you know about that one, as for the funds well let me say they are all in the blue, but slow gainers, but secure, as you well know though, anything can happen to throw a spanner in the works

yea probably better to stick to the devils you know, i don't tend to go for the, big gain/big loss shares, good timing on your behalf with vod, think getting the timing right is more important than anything, but you need some luck on your side mostly

well topped up on smt today as they have taken a bit of a fall recently, keeping an eye on what's going on with tsco, at the moment after the recent consolidation, also hoping to get back into av sold at 3.63, so probably need it to drop back to 3.50 to cover charges , what's your view on tui? previous Dividend yield: 10.69% and £10, 2 years ago, maybe worth a buy and hold for a while

thanks cd, agree not wise to do take much notice of posters on here, as a lot are bull****ers lol , and you always have to make your own decisions, then you only got yourself to blame, but that said, its to pick up tips and share ideas from guys like yourself

thanks for the tip about being too heavy in insurance, going to hold lgen and aviva , good dividend and growth I think, and both in the blue , if I get back into profit with saga will take your tip about overweight in insurance and sell, then will be looking for a good dividend, and growth share, so getting in the right time will be important, if you see any good ones let me know cheers

what I was saying to you the other day, about saga being the biggest loss in my portfolio, well the guys over on the saga board seem to think this ones going to do well , once they get the nod to start getting their cruise ships going, if you get chance might be worth you having a look at it, let me know what you think

transferred my pension into a sip about a year before the 2016 referendum, with mostly uk based funds, then noticed a massive drop after the results, thankfully most came back ok, so decided to mix with international funds after that by selling my worst performing funds
found most of the legal & general funds to have low ongoing charges of around 0.3 % time will tell if I got it right,
thought I was going too off topic on vod board
