Clean break of the 400p would be nice. Hopefully never to see the 3's again (or at least for a long time)
I think the recent rise in Lloyds was 1) anticipation of announcement and 2) solid results and reinstating Divi (albeit not the best)
The same should come for HSBC next week. Better the other Divi payers % and the rise should be even bigger.
He's a WUM who's been stung by HSBC and is bitter as hell and can't bare to see the SP increase, so jumps on here (and other forums) any time it is down to feed his ego and so he sleeps better at night.
Why someone would waste time on a share they're not invested in is just baffling and downright sad.
HSBC will be absolutely fine. I have a number of friends who work for the company (one v. senior) and they are all maxing out their share contributions at the moment (along with their colleagues) knowing that this will be the cheapest they see them for the foreseeable.
A positive restructuring, covid finally fizzling out, very good Q2 results, Divi returning, economy improving, I could go on.
After a very turbulent year and a half, this share will finally reap rewards. I intent to leave mine for many years (in which the dividend payments will probably cover my investment alone).
@porche - I ask again, why do you invest so much time in a share that you are not invested in? Sad, sad person.
You'll be nowhere to be seen when this is back to 500p, just like the rest of them.
Got to feel sorry for you really.
Yes, with shares tanking 15%+ in China, I feel like we come out of it pretty unscathed. As they rebound, we announce results and Divi, we should finally have a few catalysts to send this flying. Also a possibility of SP manipulation before divi announcement. Hang on for dear life. I've just topped up for the fourth time this year.
Anyone know why Google has us 1.6% down today after close? Assuming it's just a glitch with all other sites quoting us 402.90
Bounced nicely today. Need to consolidate now over 400p before a move up.
Steady rise back up to 450/60 before divi news
Porsche, where did you call that it would reach 460p a few month ago? Shares go up, shares go down. Selling now would be stupid. But that's just my opinion.
We should be near the bottom now.
All banks in general have taken a hit over the last 5/6 weeks. It was never going to go up in a straight line (however I will hold my hand up and say that I didn't see a fall back below sub 420p).
News of Divi will send this up pretty quickly and I would expect to see us return to 450+ in anticipation of that.
Strong hold!
I think they'll follow very similar patterns. What makes you sway towards STAN? I see both with plenty of upside in the coming months.
The current drop seems a general blip, they'll come good for those who can hold their nerve.
I topped up again at 419.2- an absolute steal- averaging around 355p all in. Bring on 600p+..
Porsche spends far too much time, particularly on ADVFN telling everyone what a poor company HSBC is and how it is a 'sell'. Since he first spouted this, I am around 18% up, received a £3000 dividend payment and will continue to buy on dips. This is a powerhouse which is refocusing on Asia, which is where most profits come from. Is it without problems and political issues? No, of course not. But name a company this size which is.
Dividend will increase, the SP will rise and I will keep topping up on dips, while paying no attending the people such as Porsche. I would question the de-rampers as to why they are focusing their efforts on posting about a company who they clearly don't own shares in... All I can think is that they have been stung, sold at a lass post covid, and can't bare to see others help themselves at these bargain prices.
Breakout tomorrow? HSBC HK up 3.5% bores well..
Looking good to push up now. Will see 500p before July imo
While I agree there should be a lot of upside in the coming months/years, I can't see anything that quantifies a projection to all time highs of 800p. On what basis do you think we reach 800p? We need to break that 430 barrier convincingly before I am confident of reaching 500 this year.
Strong finish today, let's see what Monday brings!
Hopefully it breaks through 430 and doesn't return! Been sideways for a while now, time for some movement!
Just had a big top up at 415.8. Last chance around these levels imo.
Think the markets could take a hit next week. If so, top up time!
Could do with a little rally today after that drop!
