LTI, sorry you get frustrated/upset by posts on here.
Again, you say others views are incorrect but you must remember that no one can really say that for sure, fine to have alternative views if you don't agree with a poster.
Not sure what your getting at re. the relevance of short term share price? Is this in relation to your intimation that I said the share price would drop to 54p but refused to sell knowing I didn't have a clue which way the share price would go? Appreciate you're frustrated and upset but that statement is a bit off the wall. I do remember responding to a poster who's view was that the share price would drop very low by saying my view was I didn't see it dropping below 60p for very long?
Also, I have made no secret in posts on here that I have a gamble pot (as dabble pot investment went pear shape!), dabble pot for short term trading and a long term hold here. I am flattered that you've taken the time to do calculations on this, though feels like I have a kind of stalker :-)
Calm down, calm down :-)
The LTI, GB tag team is very excitable today. Errm, LTI I think you have me confused with someone else there re.54p, happy for you to dig up the post though if I did say that.
Again, to you both this time, I nor you, nor anyone else can say what will happen to share price for definite.
GB, you obviously take posts on here personally and deeply, you would be advised to chill a bit!
My comment was only meant to be an expression of the market often not following what you would expect to happen, element of luck is involved! Again, everyone has a right to their views and no one (not even you!) can know what is correct or not.
Nice to see the share price up though even without buy back in operation.
>What’s your reasoning for the share price being down now Rob out of curiosity ?
As I type the share price is up?
I think I said originally that you would expect a slight drop when buyback finished but often logic does not follow and the share price might rise.
No need to get upset LTI. Again, overall effectiveness of buyback in relation to number of shares in circulation is diminished by the new additional shares that have and continue to be printed. It cannot be clearer can it? :-)
Aha yes correct, but if you are looking at effectiveness of buyback, if you took that figure of shares bought back in isolation from those additional new ones that have been printed and continue to be printed then slightly misleading.
Though this paints a slightly misleading picture in respect of overall shares in circulation due to the ongoing lloyds share printing press. Will be interesting to see if a statement / further action is released at end of buy back and if so hopefully they use some brains from a shareholders perspective when wording it!
If we could predict that we'd all be very rich :-) From average of views on here it seems the feeling is after August may be a slightly better time for the share price. What would help of course is some fairly radical action to shift negative sentiment and bring focus onto the positive side of Lloyd's fundamentals.
For general interest as a long term holder I thought I'd add up divs we've received since they restarted. Since they restarted in 2014 I think we've received just over 10p in dividends. Mine have mostly been reinvested at increasingly lower prices, lowering average.
SUFCESSEX, last count I'm currently at approx 6.5 million of these :-) And like you I don't lay claim to be an all knowing guru, I find that people that present themselves as all knowing are the ones to beware of, as in all walks of life!
" I think Rgtr just likes to have a reason/moan for a falling price even if they are for contradictory reasons" I'm sure you and gb are twins :-) patrolling the boards rubbishing any view point that may be contrary to all things with Lloyd's are wonderful with that holier than thou superior intellect you have, haha...
"Rob - you’re contradicting yourself. One minute you’re suggesting the buybacks are having a detrimental effect on the share price and then you suggest that share price should drop when they’ve finished. Which is it Rob ?" Both are not mutually exclusive, i.e. both situations could occur. One based on sentiment, the other based on increased buying. The share chart clearly indicates a continual drop in share price since buyback began. You or I cannot say for definite why that is, my view as I've stated is that a mixed strategy at that stage was wrong, there were not enough funds to make it credible/significant enough to shift negative lloy share sentiment/price.
