Listed companies set the results dates well in advance and don't let it linger until a few days before.

It goes to show how unprofessional ASOS management is, and that Calamonte is really a clown who can't even speak proper English

Yes basically. It will just keep struggling to stay afloat.

This wasn't the case 3 or 4 years ago as the competitive landscape was quite different. Couple that with some very bad moves by management, failed US expansion, paying too much for failed brands (topshop) and loading the company with heavy debt, accelerated its decline.

That's normal by the way, businesses fail all the time and new ones rise.

It's not reflected in EBITDA, by definition...

ASOS will only ever be a breakeven company - and I have proved this to you. As soon as you look at the £150-200m of capex reported below the line, you realise that this company will only be able to make marginal cash profit and that's IF it somehow managed through this crisis. (not even taking into account the huge level of interest it will be paying in the next 4 years)

In the long term it will either go bankrupt or be picked up cheap as the market consolidates. It's already too crowded

You do realise that ASOS sales are now way lower than 2019 in real terms? i.e. when you account for the inflation we had in the past 5 years

Revenue is 38% up in the UK, how do you explain that? While ASOS is 15-20% down?

Thesis in a few simple words:

1) Competitive landscape has changed massively in the past 5 years. ASOS is no longer the dominant player it used to be and there's no way back to that

2) SHEIN has copied whatever ASOS and Boohoo are doing, and it's doing it better, cheaper and faster

3) Asos has made a series of bad management decisions, including paying a ton of money to acquire failing brands (Topshop) only to have to dispose them a couple of years later at a fraction of the value

4) Failed US expansion, the key growth market for ASOS which is now going backwards and no longer a priority. A huge investment which is not going to bear fruit and an admitted failure of management

5) In doing all of the above, piled up huge amounts of debt which was unable to service and had to sell key strategic assets to avoid administration. Now faced with extortionate amounts of interest (14-15%)

6) Most importantly, the trend is clear - ASOS is falling out of fashion

7) Calamonte is a clown and he will soon be replaced
