So I currently have £1k disposable for investments per month 3* 200 and 4 *100 in 7 shares would cost me £10.50 or a single £1k lump would be £11.95. As I said they also count towards the amount of deals per month so if I suddenly have a little extra as I will have whenever I sell a holding then fees would drop to £8.95 for lump sum. I have about 8/9 years left to make this work for my retirement
Monthly cost is £1.50 so its slightly more than a lump sum but it makes me happier that I am not trying to time the investment. Also these trades count towards total trades so lump sum trade drops from £11.95 to £8.95. I did 2 top ups late last year as price dropped below 45p. I worked out for my level of investment then £200/mth works out slightly cheaper where £100/mth slightly more expensive. I play a long term game and I am a man of modest means so it works for me.
I keep thinking of taking profit after starting monthly saving at 32.65 in Nov 2020 always planned to stop that instruction when it went properly past 50p as it now seems to have done. No more adds other than if it dips back below 50p. However I look at potential and keep upping my get out price. I have just moved it from 60 to 65 but if it hits that early before results and dividend announcement then I will get ever more greedy
I know little of watches however I saw a little beauty made by IWC Schaffhausen and as I had a little spare cash for lets say an after divorce pickup I thought I would have a closer look at it. Upwards of £11k price tag got me back down to a more sensible price tag very quickly. Please post latest charity price list as I will have to get in with a guess. I have a great riding school nearby that caters for disabled kids and adults so it would be good to win and donate to them
Gazzleberry maybe doing the same thing may work this time as combined with potential interest rate rises and investment in housing it could all just come together. Here's hoping . My average price is just under 45p so I think it is safe to hang on and see what happens for me
It still annoys me that I nearly took a nice profit at around 82p back in January 2020 however just at that moment the "Greed is good" side of my character won and I held on. I trawled the news for information regarding the near 10% rise last Friday but found nothing. Hopefully someone knows something and it will be a happy start to the year
lti regarding SB at £5000 pp what overnight fee would that cost. I did open a SB account a few months back with IG but was only messing about with small amounts while I got used to it. Shut it down again after a couple of months as I was struggling to sleep
Hopefully the donkey has finally left the stalls. I think I would prefer a Derby distance to a 5 furlong sprint as I've been slowly accumulating for 12 months now. Will continue to buy up to 50p and then hopefully it gets to the mythical 64p sometime next year
I have a work colleague who spends too much time chatting to his conspiracy theorist pals who to all intents and purposes comes across as a reasonable person. However he insists that someone invented an engine that ran on water and the oil companies bought his idea for millions and suppressed it
Dan as we currently have a logistics problem do you think all the HGV's and massive container ships can be converted to run on batteries. My little fuel efficient car isn't the problem its the lack of infrastructure for everyone to run around in an EV that is
Greens now have a power base in Germany and it seems like most policy decisions around the globe have to pay homage to climate change. I am currently awaiting my new Vauxhall Corsa powered by a trusty internal combustion engine which was a factory order made on 28th July still not delivered. Bet I would have had it by now if I had succumbed to the big EV sales pitch. As this share is currently subject to to many outside influences I have decided to find a more boring place to invest this money. I may get back on board when the outlook is calmer. Most unusual for me to not have the conviction to stay with my investment longer.
Much as I like this share I reluctantly sold my holding a few weeks back and took a loss on my modest outlay. I feel at its current valuation then only very good news will bring price back to around 1100 - 1200 range. I thought the recent update was ok however I think I was guilty of buying at too high a price. I will watch and maybe wait an opportunity to buy a dip on one of those days where the price moves dramatically
I like your calculations may they hopefully come to fruition. On another note there is surely potential for AUM to improve beyond the recently upgraded target of £8bn for 2025 not sure if this is beginning or end of year target. Increase in AUM of 50% this year probably won't be repeated but even more modest increases of around 15 to 20% would see that target beaten. All in all points to steady growth as I am a long term investor rather than a trader that would be fine for me. Modest dividend payment has also increased for 3 years
