Article in todays Telegraph about Uber. Sums up what many of this board have been saying around the future of driverless cars and also the exaggerations used to benefit 5he Companies themselves with little basis of reality. Meanwhile SEE quietly builds up an unassailable market position. Lets hope we get true benefi5 and our faith / cash is rewarded.
Now confidence in full driverless tech is diminishing. Khosrowshahi himself said that they were a decade away earlier this year. That was before one of Uber’s driverless cars killed a woman in Tempe, Arizona, a tragic event that has suspended tests and probably held the project back years.
Several tech investors believe Uber talked up its self-driving future to juice its valuation when it was raising huge amounts of money. Now that the vision is less credible, it needs a new story. Uber has cash for now, but is due to go public by the end of next year.
It's motivational moaning, it's a great skill. State the bleeding obvious when people all around are losing their heads.
Well done S7. Great analysis, ignore the wider sell off.
Yes, me too, thought i was right then fleet numbers collapsed! Along with our sp. i think its all still good but sadly more patience is required. That is hard going as LTH have used up much of their patience a while ago. Sometimesi wish i was a new investor paying 6.5p and not having all the baggage. Lets see where we are in March 2019. Most RFQ should be fully progressed by then. In Ken we trust :)
How can they sell Guardian when they are relying on it's data for future R and D? That would be stupid and we were told these guys are a lot of things but not stupid. More likely licensing deal with full data access and tight restrictions re any further development of our tech
Sorry, that's not a drumbeat, thats my stomach rumbling, must be lunchtime!
Just posted, is this new news?
"seeing Machines launches API Guardian Live Seeing Machines is pleased to announce the release of Guardian Live API (Application programming Interface), which allows customers to retrieve data from the Guardian Live database and Import them into your telematics provider interface or business reporting tool to add business intelligence. An API is a process that provides secure access to multiple sets of data to collect and store for custom Use. Access to the API will allow Guardian clients to have additional control over access and retention of their data, and the ability to create custom Reports. Customers may also nominate a third party, such as a seeing machines distributor or a telematics service provider, to collect and store their data on their interface. " www.smlatam.cl
Then I will remain an investor awaiting the triumphant moment that our sp decides to catch up with these projected returns! Thanks for the clarications btw
Have you allowed for the substantial cut that the Tier 1 will be taking or would that take too much gloss of the triumphant figures! :)
Sure thing, no bragging on 5% moves no moaning on 5% drops (shakes hands) lol
S7 here is your chance to post. SE down 5% SM up 5% or do you only comment when it is negative?
Semicast revises its expected Tier 1 for Super Cruise in 2020 from Veoneer to Aptiv See Semicast Twitter for more
Sky went up 70%. After a 70% sp upgrade then SEB? Thought you would want more than 12p a share
The article i read had a women eating a bowl of cereal whilst driving. The police themselves filmed the incident, not sure how this impacts DMS. Sounds like she was banged to rights to me. They would have no need for our tech and would struggle to justify requesting it (proportionality) as they have enough evidence anyway. The more likely scenario is where a death is caused and they are looking for evidence. they would have more powers then.

Translated: @SmartEyeAB has found that eyetracking in cars in the mass market segment comes faster than expected. The company is now participating in procurements with an est. value of 10 bn kronor.
That’s ~US$1.1 bn. It follows that @seeingmachines is involved in the RFQ too.

That’s a good point Esco, again where is the clarity though if that is the case? SE are showing these numbers in their presentations to investors (see Redyeye website today) to highlight that they are the market leaders. So though you may be right if SEE don’t clarify then who is left looking like a mug? SEE and there long suffering investors that’s who.
Smart Eye 23 design wins. SEE 5, We have some catching up to do in this space or SEE need to start publishing number of DW if they are holding that info back too.
