I’ve been reading (and maybe obsessing a bit) about how strongly today’s market ratios mirror those that precursed significant historic drops. Logically the figures are skewed by the huge P/E ratio of AI stocks in the US but I can’t help but think that we’ll all suffer when the correction comes, irrespective of how sound each individual business is in isolation. I retired in February (aged 58 and all due to RR) and funds wise am still heavily weighted to RR, I’m keeping everything crossed that the Iran debacle gets sorted before there’s a crash so I can convert a large chunk to cash and relax, I’m currently holding eighteen month’s of income in gilts but getting a bit nervous, daft really, it’s still been life changing whatever happens.

It was interesting, and the points re order book size and factory learning were something to think about. But it’s worth noting that the author of the article has a history of anti nuclear/pro renewable writings.

I’ve often through that the future P/E ratios etc are a little subjective, so with genuine interest, where do you get your 70 x figure? And what are your 2029 earnings and price figures? Thanks

I didn't get in as early as many on here, but still averaged £1.90, and my target was early retirement. I sold 25% at £10.90 after the interim results, and then another 25% in September at £11.10. I'm now retiring at 58 in March next year, it's often said on here but this truly has been life changing. Also, if it hadn't been for a few of the regular posters (I'll not name you all but you know who you are) my nerve would have failed me much earlier than this. The updates re links to new engine orders, SMR progress, etc. kept me here and I'm very (very) grateful, so thanks to you all.

I think it’s just poor reporting, all the minor internet news sites have run with a Bloomberg report re Boeing and a 500 plane order from China. These deals take months to put together, it isn’t realistic that all the Chinese airlines (albeit negotiating through the Chinese gov’t) have, on a whim and as a result of a less than great get together with the EU, switched from Airbus to Boeing. Maybe blame AI news stories? Who knows? I personally think it’s nonsense.

Plus Sheffield Forgemasters is owned by the government (in a sense) and they make the pressure vessels, in terms of generating the growth they’re after, there really couldn’t be a better option.

There probably isn’t a link, it was on Sky News. It really was very positive, he talked about solving the energy needs for AI development using SMRs and nuclear fusion. The mention of fusion was a bit disconcerting but the message was clear, and when pressed he said that he’d work with Ed Miliband to make both AI and clean energy work.

Very encouraging, I just wish he hadn’t also mentioned nuclear fusion in the same breath as SMRs
