Next week will be a key week for ODX. DHSC is coming under pressure around 'Freedom Day' and they need some positive announcements.

Unfortunately, I shall be on the high seas next week, sipping ****tails on a cruise ship. Access to the internet may be patchy... but a week away from checking my portfolio may do me some good.

Orient Gene has been a supplier for a number of months - this isn't a recent chance. The supply is part of the Wave 5 procurement that was undertaken at the end of last year, details of the awards from which were published in January this year.

There's plenty to blame the corrupt sh**s in government for but this isn't one of them I'm afraid...

The other alternative is that Coronavirus Act gave the government emergency powers to centrally grant planning permission without needing to go through the full democratic process (most commonly used in respect of the various Nightingales, emergency morgues, etc. that popped up around the country).

Once planning permission is granted you have three years to commence the works. Some people (these sort of commercial property development companies in particular) will apply for PP in anticipation of future need - we see it a lot on the various science parks around here. They build separate units but get PP for works to link them if companies need to increase their space.

It could be that the works being undertaken for Omega are covered by such 'anticipatory' PP.

That's a 2018 planning application. For those who are interested the references are: Year/Application Number/Type

They use the same awful planning portal that we have to use for our planning committee...

I can't find any applications listed for the relevant postcode since 2019 (or using any of the other shortcuts). As you say, an application reference would be handy.

No. Despite what the derampers like to suggest, a company is only required to RNS information which may have a material impact on the share price. TT wouldn't necessarily... e.g. anyone with a basic understanding of ODX would know they'd have to TT over any test. The fact they have a test to TT isn't necessarily - subsequent orders for that test might be (but wouldn't always be).

So British exceptionalism strikes again and Javid is ignoring the evidence from elsewhere (e.g. Israel) that suggest the effectiveness of the main vaccines - even when double jabbed - is probably much lower that previously thought/anticipated (closer to 60% than 80%).

It’s a tender for community based secondary care related diagnostics. It’s not Covid related.

I hear it a lot in the senior ranks of the NHS. They don’t seem to realise that it’s those very regulations that are protecting the NHS from the totally unregulated healthcare market that the Brexitremists want to introduce.

Hughes Healthcare is a legit company. The web-site linked to a few posts back is not an official Hughes Healthcare site. If you look at the real Hughes Healthcare site (https://hugheshealthcarelabs.com/products/hughes-healthcare-covid-19-rapid-antigen-lateral-flow-test-kit-individual-packaged) they don’t make the claims the fake site does. They also don’t criticise other manufacturers- something a legit company wouldn’t do (as it would get sued).

My guess is the fake site has got hold of some Hughes tests and are selling them on at vastly inflated prices.

Actually, I think you'll find the MoH in Nigeria will be focusing on both, as those who are HIV+ve are more susceptible to Covid infection and are likely to worse outcomes/higher mortality. Monitoring CD4 levels in those who are HIV+ve will probably be part of their Covid management plan.
