Our live Investing Matters Podcast Special which took place at the Master Investor Show discussing 'How undervalued is the UK stock market?', has just been released. Listen here.
Keep em coming, I thought I got a steal at 198, but downward pressure appears relentless, not wishing any trouble, but an event leading to supply shortage would be helpful just now when it’s knees with OK results.
pf full of this and BP and RDSB are completely smashed, what a nightmare, but still I keep topping up. Surely next week is when things turn??
How low can this go?
Machine is the right word, this has been my only ray of light today, even US and Aussie goldies aren't performing that great and cey...bit of a let down when compared with POLY.
It's defo load up goldies, everything moving nicely.
That wouldn't be good, but surely BP corporate are beginning to feel the heat and will act soon, as there must be some large holders that want blood.
Tacet, your predition was absolutely bang on, 235 would be nice.
GSK and AZN have both been whacked. There's 30+ vaccine candidates, with several about to report in Q4. Part of me thinks we reset higher than pre-covid just because of massive pent up demand. Could be rewarding for those that have been ballsie.
Everything plummeted, seems a very organised dump.
Stop being daft, panic is way overdone, but astonished I was able to steal some at 203. Sold it though and bought some Exxon to hopefully sell and buy maybe Santos or Woodside. I doubt I'll get that lucky, but would be great to get back into BP. with the same cash in the morning.
Yep I pay more attention when have some cash in, but surprised at the level of recent capitulation, as other oilers have showed more resilience.
I can always dip my other toe in lower if necessary.
I think I'll have a dip at 2.10 as seems lowest I've ever seen BP...you'd think it was going bust??
Sometimes you just have to be ballsie.
some movement hopefully?
Tro I'm only going for 1 or 2% gains, it's a lot of effort, but as long as I mainly stick with US popular stocks on a fee free platform you can easily make regular decent gains. I still like the speculative stuff as well, as psychologically there the most rewarding ones even though they can take some time to move. Cheers for the tips!!
yep goldies are looking attractive, but I never like to hold gold miners too long and personally looking to offload when or if the recent high gets hit again. It'll be interesting to see how the election pans out, maybe a blue win is better due to bigger stimulus, but trump could cause another shock...he's certainly firing up his base so could be trouble ahead. I'm still attracted to big oilers and banks though, as they just seem so beaten up, yet trade pretty reliably so quite easy squeeze some gains.
Tro It's funny you should say that, as made quite a bit from that Nicola, but to be frank you could pretty much buy anything at one point, as it just seemed to be a mental buy anything rally. I saw recently that a lot of goldies have come off the boil so have reversed out of banks / oilers and back into PRU, NCM, GOLD, NEM, FNW, RGLD, POLY, CEY and SAND. I have changed my strategy now and just go for speedy small gains and try push cash across UK, US and ASX. It's a pain and can do 20+ buy and sell trades a day, but seems to be working ok for now. I'll check orr and aaz out and yeah fingers crossed on WRES, good job MM is still relatively young though.
Hi Tro, I hope all is well are still just trading uk, just with the fee free trading platforms been a lot more on the US myself. Also kinda lost touch a bit on wres but still think it could do ok with some luck. I’m now starting to get back into goldies as I think that may have another little pop are you looking at anything new?
It did make me chuckle, I would of been happy with 218.
For some reason I just gravitate towards Tesco when there's nothing left to buy as it seems so reliable and steady.
I got my last batch for 211 so yeah I think I'll hang fire and continue playing on the US markets for a little while.
yep free trump cash looks to be back on
