The thing about SDRY is their market cap is unusually small so little buying can set the price rising. Bit of a drop today though even with Peelhunt’s recommendation.

The reason Ross Jerrard bought 15k shares and not 100k is because he knows the company is sound but he’s not sure on the direction of the price of gold.

China, Russia U.K. and the USA playing war games gives a clue but other than that the POG is crystal ball stuff.

Shares in fashion brand Superdry (SDRY) are not pricing in a recovery, says Peel Hunt.

Analyst John Stevenson reiterated his ‘buy’ recommendation and target price of 375p on the stock, which jumped 14.9%, or 43p, to close at 328p on Thursday after reporting encouraging preliminary results.

‘Trading on 13.9x 2023 financial year estimated earnings, Superdry’s shares do not price in recovery,’ he said.

‘Indeed, looking back to 2018 and 2019 as the last normal years, the shares would be trading on a single-digit price/earnings.’

Stevenson said the autumn/winter clothing ranges are landing around four weeks behind schedule for the sector due to logistical challenges but that ‘early indications are encouraging’. He sees particular promise in the new ranges of coats and outerwear – ‘a Superdry staple’ – that has dominated the top sellers despite the warmer weather.

‘Steady growth in actives, rising online engagement and brand sales approaching £1bn give confidence in the outlook,’ said the analyst.
