I don't understand it either but it always seems to happen before a big rise... It's like bigger companies that have millions of shares, sell off random small amounts to create uncertainty in the share. Which forces some sheep to follow freeing up more shares to purchase as it gets closer to big news. Then the big dogs fight over the remaining shares and make a Murray mint buying up loads of shares. In the process feeding the little fish that manage to cling on. That's how I look at it.
