Lol, i'm 100% in as well, the numbers says it all though, JD are making money have plenty of cash. It's just market sentiment atm, just 1 set of really good results and this will easily double...

Can someone tell me why it's going up? is it because of the IMF?

TBH JD is doing quite well, considering the wider market and Nikes 15%+ drop, it is annoying though as it should be worth way more than the current share price.

It is what it is, I'm in a 82p, and bought more today to average down, I think once the war ends it'll shoot up quite quickly. But one thing I learned is once you sell you've locked in the loss, so it's kinda pointless selling.

Oh and like someone said on this forum, they have almost a billion in profit, and a market cap of 4b, which means pentland group could buy this company in 8 years, and not spend a single penny. Imagine a commercial property on which you clear the balance in 8 years without spending a single penny, that's crazy.

Ummmm I bought rolls royce at £1, not in a million years would I have thought they'd reach £12, just looking at the jd numbers, it will definitely climb probably way above £1.50, as long as they don't go bankrupt, we'll be fine.

Just watch what happens when we get a very positive trading update, just one trading update.

@JamesOxford That's a good plan, similar to mine. I've bought all in today and what do you know it's dropped....... Yesterday I waited for NYSE open in case it dropped, but it went up, today I didn't wait and see and now it's dropped, lol, a 4p increase in share price on about 200k shares is 8k, which is not bad for a week.

Lol, 'you're gambling' says the person with username 'pokerchips'. I'm in this for the long term, I'm happy with the long term trend the day to day trading is inherently unpredictable without having the exact information that causes movement in the share price. Yesterday it seem like it was deckers earnings and today the drop seemed to be the down ratings.

I'm not gambling I'm taking pre-emptive steps to increase my holding without risking.

Yeah mate, don't worry I know, no offense taken don't worry! But I hate it when I go all in and then it drops, I feel like I missed out getting cheaper. But then I also feel foolish when it goes up and think all the potential profit I just lost.......

Cos there's no guaratee, it's going to drop lower...... if I knew exactly where it was going to go down and then come back up to with 100% certainty, I'd be a billionaire..........

Do I buy now or wait until it drops further to below 80p?

This is typical JD sports, it's very volatile (relatively speaking), good thing I sold yesterday at about 86p, I'll probably buy back in a few days. The way I see it is I want to be in JD long term. So if the price drops I buy more - or just hold. If the price goes up then I sell. The risk I take is I miss the major upswing, but if I keep trading then I still make money.

Ideally I keep trading while there is no news, before any trading update I just hold.

Oh I think that's it, it was pretty flat in the morning (+/2% like jd sports normally does) then started to climb up after lunch-ish, seems to me like the cause was deckers.

Yes, but this will drop back, I don't know why this has climbed suddenly. But for the moment I'm out, all 300k+ sold. Fully liquid now. Waiting for it to drop back down to re-purchase.

Yes, but it is annoying, I'm invested in at 84p. 100k in property could get me lets say 10% per year, so about £800 per month, in 3 years that would be 30K, it would have to go up to 1.10 to break even. So it does need to go up to like £1.50 to be worthwhile in the next year or so then it beats the property without the hassle. And it's well worth it if it's inside a tax efficient wrapper like a SIPP or ISA.

I know that JD will come back, it's just the opportunity cost that I'm losing out on while it's down in the doldrums, the only saving grace is that when it goes above 85p I sell and then buy back when it drops, but that leaves me at risk of missing out on the big jumps......
