Prudential ADRs just closed at $43.85 = £14.2512
Dow finished down over 1% at close. This despite the fact it was up around 3.50% at one point. A swing of over 600 points. IG index forecasting the FTSE down over 130 points at start. Looks like another rocky day ahead. Let's hope that OPAY can deliver a really good set of results for us all.
IG index showing a 100 points lift in the FTSE 100 tomorrow. Just depends if New York can hang on to its present position. This share been getting hammered more than most, and for no good reason. Let's hope for a change in fortune tomorrow.
Moving a bit now.
jc15, yes you could be correct. Still think OPEC may yet agree to a cut in production, if this slide in oil prices continues (just a hunch). Read an article a few weeks back that the younger members of the Saudi Royal Family were not happy with the current stance and would like to see a production cut. Always thought it a bit strange that OPEC have not cut production. A 10% reduction in output would probably see, in all probability a 10% increase in oil price. Same monetary value and keeping 10% more oil in the ground. Obviously it would not help in reducing American output, which is Saudi Arabia's goal.
You have done well getting out in May. The way the deal is structured even if RDSB dropped to £15 a share the BG deal would still be worth over £10.50. That's about a 12% premium on the share price now. Could be a good time to get back in?. Just have to wait and see what sort of lead we get from the USA this afternoon. The Dow will obviously be well down at opening. It's judging what will happen there after we close. Whether it picks up or not towards the close in New York. Think that's about 10 straight days now the FTSE has been down. Economic figures have been good in the UK and growth forecast up to. May be due a bounce. More hopeful than any conviction though.
based on RDSB current price of £16.46 the takeover deal now worth £11.31 to BG shareholders. Getting lower and lower.
MMs just had to dip it down to 269 and pick up a few stops. May see it rise from here. Anyway there is always tomorrow.
yes getting clobbered right enough. The more you look at the price the more it falls. Better to walk away for a few hours. Think of the positives and next weeks results.
looks like it's going the opposite direction today. Onwards and upwards
Did not take it that you had meant me. Was just making my position clear. GL
SP due to start its descent towards 2.30pm NY opening.
think you have covered the whole world there.
phoenixchi: I for one have never said or implied the share price would fly. I have stated that the interims would be good /very good and I stick by that. What the MM do with the share price is out with our control and I do not expect it to motor upwards. You mentioned anticipation, remember we still have a few trading days left before results. No I do not expect this to jump 20% in a day (or even 10%) we all know the fundamentals are excellent here as other posters have explained ( you know who they are) much much better than I ever could. Onwards and upwards then at a steady pace would suit.
bdog51, looks as though you have made the right move. ARM just being dragged down from all sides at the moment. Most of which will be incorrect assumptions. The next quarterly update will prove that (long way off). Will just have to batten down the hatches and wait for the upturn.
i for one think the chances of not having a good/very good update on the 26th to be practically NIL. Remember the 10th Aug RNS just 16 DAYS prior to this update. Quote's from the BOD include "I believe our business will continue to go from strength to strength" and "transformational and value enhancing" plus a few others. No one in the BOD would put their name to these statements then 16 days later come out with a not so good interim report. It's as near a good thing as one could get. Just my opinion and have backed it up with my investment here, as have many others.
if we were in the Nasdaq at this moment the share price would not be this low that's for sure. Not an expert but having looked through the general criteria for admission Opay look to be a good fit. Would take time but Nasdaq would be just perfect.
IG index predicting a fall in FTSE tomorrow too. When is this going to end. Doesn't see to matter at the moment how well a company is performing, shares just keep falling. Things getting irrational now.
Went the wrong way. All shares in FTSE took a dive around 3.45pm. Not sure of reason.
i for one would be surprised if it does not hit the 290 mark before results. Maybe even late on today! Imho.
