Clued that made me laugh! I actually don’t mind Charles tbh .. of all the boards this is definitely the most civilised, I read a lot but generally only comment on this one. We all know what he’s like and there is a filter button for those who can’t bare it lol
If there was an award for the most blocked person on the LSE bb forum I’d put money on Charles being the outright winner!
Agree! Let’s hope the wait isn’t too long! Have a good long weekend everyone! I presume Charles will be hiding in the bushes somewhere in Cambridge ;-) I’m sure will get an update on Tuesday lol
Canada’s Open Text Corp. struck a deal to buy UK software firm Micro Focus International Plc for about $6 billion including debt, building on a strategy of growth by acquisition.
The Waterloo, Ontario-based company is offering 532 pence per Micro Focus share, a 99% premium to Thursday’s closing price. Open Text said it will fund the cash takeover bid with $4.6 billion in new debt, $600 million from an existing credit line and cash on its balance sheet.
…….. also to add……..
But the company has seen declines in its revenue and adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization every fiscal year since 2018.
Charles, it takes months for a stock to form a cup and handle pattern not days!
Not sure how the word “happy” sneaked in there! Lol maybe a good omen
Thanks for posting Grotty! I’ve always felt this share has been so manipulated! Will be happy interesting to see how this pans out
Yep! That’s exactly what they’ve done! Because they know it’s going to be big!
Spacerat it’s always a difficult call, however a profit is a profit, no one knows where the highs and lows exactly are. I was lucky the other day selling and buying back 30p lower. As for the “no bid” question, personally I’m confident in DT as a business going forward as I think they’ve got a great product and a great team running the business. I’m not in a particular rush as I’m an investor not a trader and there’s a big difference between the two. Good luck with any future investments/trades and well done in making a quick profit, we are all experts in hindsight after all aren’t we?
Spacerat ….. ouch! bet you wish you’d hung on just a few more days!
Ultimately it’s only worth what someone is prepared to pay and will only be sold for an amount they are willing to accept, and no one knows the answer to either of those questions. Keep on guessing and someone will eventually be correct ;-)
Anyone googled our share price of late
It’s the only negative they have left… makes me laugh :-)
Moomins he’s just a shareholder end of
Lending i agree! This is a major holding for me it’s been a painful journey but I believe it will pay off. My husband averaged down a lot ( he has bigger balls than me lol) however I’m still very confident I’ll get a good return :-)
I doubt that TB is the only interested party at this moment as per The Times quote "Several bidders are expected to join Thoma Bravo, the American private equity firm, in a race to buy the UK company, with Cisco, Palo Alto Networks and CrowdStrike among those tipped as potential candidates"
Agreed ijgs! It may not be a bad thing if TB walk away with no deal. There will be others I’m sure and I’m in here because I believe DT has amazing potential. There will be ups and downs as we’ve already experienced but ultimately I wouldn’t be so heavily invested if I didn’t think there was massive potential!
Not sure a cup & handle pattern is relevant in the current bid situation however I can see what you’re looking at and had thought the same although the peak of the cup looks to me around 9.50 not at current levels. Then it would have to drop somewhat from there to form the handle and I doubt that’s going to happen … but who knows!
Not surprising, just some profit taking. I sold my at 5.30 the other day and bought back in my ISA at 5.00. Pure luck I’ll admit but a good way to lower my average price. I reckon it’ll be back up and down a bit today after all it’s Friday :-) take advantage of the highs and lows if you dare!
Around this time last year I was disappointed that the share price had dropped into the 5s now I’m mildly excited that it’s arrived back! What a difference a year makes! GL to all LTH who’ve endured the pain too! Let’s hope we get the news we are hoping for!
