"As the oil phase is pre-atomised within MSAR to very small sizes (5-10microns) compared with atomised HFO droplets (100 microns), this increased surface area enables essentially complete combustion, leaving virtually no carbon particulates in the exhaust gases. The inherent water within MSAR also reduces the temperature of combustion, which reduces NOx emissions significantly."
As DPE stated, no technical information/ results / data was forthcoming from the Maersk LONO trials. Now, I wonder why that would be? If they were bad, Maersk would clearly have come out with them as a justification for not deciding to continue with MSAR.
If they were good, It would have been embarassing to have publicised them and then said they were not continuing. I know where my money is!
Remember, Maersk did say at the time that the decision made then might not be the right one in 2020!
Something is still going on re MSAR in Marine, has to be.
