Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Just a simple discussion, I am patient albeit very excited, but just thought I would create a discussion at where the drill bit could be :)
I've seen a few people mention 30m a day but how accurate is this to the progress being made at the minute? DM planned one month per site, was this just a piece of over confidence and they've had to slow things down due to the geology or is it possible they've sped things up since casing the hole again at the side-track? 30m a day starting from 480m plus casing and wirelining is still around another 3 weeks away which would take us to 2 months since the start of the drilling which just sounds completely off
Is there a need to slow down the drilling when entering a zone where helium is present to measure the mud logs more accurately I wonder? If this is the case, is it now possible that they've just ramped the drill up to get to the important 1200m as soon as possible? They've already proved that they can drill magnitudes more quickly than this so makes you wonder if this is what they've done. They have gone quiet as of late seeing as the last interview was from around a week ago, which is normally a sign of something good to come.
Just thought I would try and start a bit of a discussion :)
Thank you Dai :)
And thank you Wasendo for your continued contributions! Definitely opening my eyes to new things.. I must admit, I did wonder how the drill pipe/string(?) would navigate the bend but of course! Reamers! I do wonder though how they manage to then get the drill hole running vertically again and not partially diagonally.
Accountants, drill engineers.. if anyone has a question about vehicle mechanics I might be able to help :D
Wonderful explanation, thank you :) That bit about the collars was also helpful; always wondered though.. how the hell can they turn a kilometre+ of pipe?! I suppose the weight applies the pressure but how do you not need to world's largest diesel to generate enough torque?!
I understand you Bryn completely but I think in a lull like this when a lot of the varying conversations regarding HE1 have already I don't mind people making the odd off-topic thread. Plus, imho, I don't think you're a great investor if you're not willing to garner information regarding other, potentially-lucrative stocks. Obviously, non-stop cross ramping threads would be far too much but the odd one? By all means, let me here the information you have to offer and broaden my horizon
Just wondering what the two different sizes are for such as in this picture:

Also, what are the pipes to the side for such as in here?:

Thanks guys
Explains quite a bit really, very frustrating though. Can understand the market's reaction although the fundamentals haven't changed. Makes you wonder at what point are they at now. Would be really disappointed if they are only just sidetracking this now, even with this we should be close to TD.. Going off Skittish's albeit very rough calculations we should've reached TD a week ago, and I think they encountered this issue at the very start of the month and they released that mud logging video so... hopefully not too far off a discovery RNS
At Tai, around 5-8 BCF I believe. The Hannam and Partners report details their expectation which is around there, can't find it as I'm on my phone at the minute. But that number is based on 4% He, whereas they found 10.6% at the surface and 2.2% in shallow, relatively loose soil where it's harder for the He to become trapped thus escapes, spreads out more diluting its concentration
Also have to factor in market sentiment. Look at Tesla. If HE1 find the world's largest helium reserve that'll supply the market for over 100 years (for far, far longer if we get close to 10% as what's at the surface) then that'll surely mean the dinner bells will be ringing. Hopefully the fact that HE1 will be generating guaranteed solid profit for over a century will be picked up by the market
Seagulls, absolutely :) I was hyping up a bit for an RNS this week I must admit but now I'm comfortable with it being another week or slightly more. Obviously, I can't wait for the discovery to be announced, find out the finer details and watch the rather slightly disappointing SP sky rocket but I'm happy to wait!
