Vox markets on Friday 19th:"On the downside, British Airways and Iberia owner IAG descended 5.11% after the USO union called a 10-day strike involving staff at the regional Iberia Express carrier, set to begin on 28 August and last until 6 September. EasyJet shares also fell, declining 6.29% as the low cost airline's Spanish pilots continued their strike action."
Coupled with a Covid/ Monkeypox threat due to loads of tourists rubbing up against each other..no wonder the big money has largely stayed. Mustn't forget inflation and also recession threat as background radiation. Wonder if those Ostrich Farm investment opportunities will return now ??
Less than 2.35 % down as I write. Thought things would have been far worse- plus a news item telling us what the heck happened on Friday.
The sp has not been making new highs for a few days at least 121-124-ish. Now revisiting where we started fron- the fleshpots of ~109 strangely enough.
Thanks AC777. I could never get my head around basis points. so i went on investopedia:
One basis point is equivalent to 0.01% (1/100th of a percent) or 0.0001 in decimal form. When the Fed/ Bof E announce their next int rate hikes (if). I'll know what they're talking about slightly more . GLA
Larangyl, Larynx, Minx, Larry... virus ! Pah ! Nothing beats a "Cannibal Solar Storm !!

Well done No1Scarlett good timing.
Maybe heading back to the 119 again as we make up a little. Funny to see us head into the 120's and kept back down. Manipulation at its best lol. Still, I think i'm on to a good thing if the ii forces have got to keep this low for themselves. We'll see.
Blue Nun and Fray Bentos by dusk if we end at 120 tomorrow. If not its John Cravens Newsround and early to bed with a Lion Bar only. Night Night Campers.
Good to see the rise we were kind of expecting. Back to the holding pattern ~118-120. Interesting jump earlier today.Just pent up demand of just the bookbuilders scooping up those weak hands/ weak 'bots who sold out yesterday (I like to think that !)
Still, I nearly crumbled and put my remaining dough into CINE !

Typical. We rise for a day or two then slapped back down to previous level. The 'bots probably sucked out any new money on top of Mondays ~2% rise. We'll probably be 1/2 % up tomorrow just to 'rebalance lol/
Well, as we kind of suspected a nudge towards 120 again was on the cards. I think the monkeypox was worrying a more than a few folk few folk who (like myself) thought- "stuff this , lockdowns etc etc, just sell and buy gold !!" The nice drop in oil and extra barrels from producer countries is helping. We might even get another crack at 122 tomorrow:-even this week if the Gods are good to us.
Would Velocys be a good one for the bottom drawer ? These fuels i'm sure will be popular in the future. Worth going without weekly Starbucks for a few months to buy a few. Nighty Night Campers.
Agree pmehta. Would also be nice to assume a slow accumulation /bookbuild is on the go. At we are still in the late twenties and not slipped back to early twenties. I t will take as some industry reports suggest that (all things being equal!) we'll be back to a stronger balance sheet end of '23. It will really be a case of, "This time next year Rodney!".
Still, a good start this morning- which means we are low enough in the red to make a decent recovery. We'll see though. GLA
