Time is on SoftBank’s side
THG’s challenge is living up to the expectations set for Ingenuity in May, after Japanese technology investor SoftBank invested $730m in the group and acquired an option to invest in a new Ingenuity subsidiary.
The complex deal allowed 15 months for THG to spin off the Ingenuity unit and SoftBank to decide whether to buy a 19.9% stake for $1.6bn. But Moulding in May told investors he anticipated this “going through in six months’ time”. This week, management said the deal should close in the first half of 2022.
Am I right in thinking SoftBank have option to buy 20% of ingenuity & not the whole group, if that’s the case then the deal is still on imho . They hold up is just restructuring & finalising how the split is going to happen. They’ve been working on it long enough it’s got to be almost complete soon . Maybe it’s wishful thinking.
PE or no PE , if we can smash the numbers in the next update in September this can fly . With the fed retreating on the Hawkish tone, PE lurking , MM naming the Big recent win on ingenuity & more to follow , on top of all that Rock bottom Sp , we have a perfect storm brewing for a upward WOOSH !
My key point was the PE talk , the only people that would be targeting is the Private investors as is MM instagram posts , hedge funds would just take these things with a pinch of salt . He knew pi would be sucked in with buyout talk . Now why the hell would MM stitch the working class man up .
He’s not another fraser from Sirius minerals definitely not .
Commonsense5 you make sense pardon the pun . MM & team will be the ultimate winners here as they have hinted clearly on the Nasdaq listing ambitions. We are in a bear market & by holding out for a much larger sellout price could take a lot more time . Hopefully they don’t sell the private investors out for £2 , but it is certainly a possibility. They’ve obviously rejected the up to now offers because they were possibly insulting offers . The bigger the offer the better you MM DONT sell us out too cheap ipo was £5 after all
