If you think the supply chain issues with microchips are bad (12 month wait for a new car)

Just wait and see what will happen as the switch over to full electric vehicles happens.

Between 5-10 X more copper needed for EV's.

There isn't presently enough existing active copper mines to meet supply.

They forgot the incentive scheme triggering the bonus at 600 was 2023 and new bonus schemes had been released linked to ESG.

So if I was a director here I'd be chilled about the SP as having sorted the ESG I get paid.

Next job is to sort the US distribution and get the SP over 600p by 2023 YE.

Not ruling anything out 100% but it would be a monumental political own goal if the government were to slow or halt the advancement of planned clean energy investments within the UK for the sake of a quick cash grab.

Thought it was handled well, wouldn't allow himself to be drawn on the future oil price (sensible). But did make it clear from my point of view that there was little chance of a windfall tax due to the cost saving being made by a reduction in 10,000 headcount and other cost saving so not just commodity price driven (good political answer) and a move to reinvest this year's profit into 40% clean energy initiatives.

Expectations were originally fever pitch here when the announcement was made of a potential JV for Mexico, but fell away when despite securing a free carry on the exploration drilling it was a relatively small amount of money for a modest program of works after which they shook hands and walked away which put a halt to things over there developing further at that time.

This too happened to GGP when their first JV walked away.

GGP then secured a second JV and the rest is history.

Bill will be working hard to get a deal on the iron across the line. That would be a major catalyst imv as with money coming in we can rapidly speed up the process of resource expansion which at present has to be carefully managed.
