ExMS, apologies for my grammar and spelling in advance, i'm semi drunk. And thank you for taking an interest into my life. I will try to answer you in brief without divulging too much info about me and I will start with this, showing some investing doesn't need to be about taking risks, just good maths will help (bottom mentioned all investments, including property).
I bought my first house for £30,000, a year later I rented it out, I had it on rent for around 18 years then sold it for around £180,000. I got back double I paid for it in rent and 6 times the money I paid. Not for once did I take a risk and not for once was it a gamble, just research put into action. I run my own business, do not take risks and I'm very successful.
Now to shares, especially on AIM, most carry risk, however if you research them thoroughly you put the odds in your own favour. Always buy at the bottom, if you don't know where the bottom is, keep some powder dry. Always be ready for the long haul, one year, two year or whatever. Never invest money you need. Never be shy to take profits. Always research, never listen to anyone on bb's, most on bb's have agendas. Remember never assume anything, "assumption are the mother of all fookups" Robett Deniro in some hollywood film lol.
Now for my next share adventure, they don't stop, i'm thoroughly researching 5 shares at the moment and have been for the last 6 months.
