Excellent post Jamessp21.
Say no more and look ahead with confidence and forget the nonentities that infest this board. They know nothing.
In my opinion the fact that the Bank of America has been mentioned indicates to me that deals with Newmont are being discussed by SD concerning Havieron and the future of GGP.
I am sure if any such deal were being negotiated/agreed Newmont would insist that GGP would have sufficient funding available to complete their future undertaking and hence the capital raise talks.
I am confident SD will take any required action on GGP's behalf to secure a positive outcome for GGP and its shareholders. Patience is the key and investors must be able to appreciate the corporate view as well as their own.
The rewards will come.
Just having listened to the or a presentation by Newmont and the Q&A session I note that in the presentation 10 tier 1 assets were referenced but interestingly in the Q&A session references 11 tier1 assets were mentioned in some of the management answers? Interesting.
What I did like was in response to a question was the quote that "understanding Havieron" was pretty paramount to Newmont before any decisions could be made.
My view is it is strange to Newmont would be to have such a potential well defined resource in such a comparative small area of Havieron and they really want to check it out. Stand by Shaun? Mind you they did discover Telfer many decades ago.
Good to have you back Dip.
The most important factor for the future of Havieron is How big is Havieron? We at GGP all know the high grade resource is still expanding possibly for many years hence.
IMO SD would not want to part with even 1% of the 30% of Havieron that we own knowing the forward potential of the project. If we get the opportunity of owning more than the 30% of Havieron and even 100% then we must take it.
If an offer/s to shareholders were forced on SD (and us) it should be rejected outright forever. You don't give away the Jewel let alone the crown. I am sure that SD and all will play their cards for the benefit of all of the shareholders. An interesting few weeks/months ahead to say the least.

Being a LTH I am still relaxed with GGP. As said in the past (TOTU) "all we have to do is take a seat". I will say "and enjoy the ride". There may be a few twists and turns but Newmont may have it all buttoned up with their potential competitors in the form of a few divestments/surprises to keep them happy long term.
It's still the win/win potential for us.

Freddie2,
It is so sad that a prolific poster on here whom I have more or less ignored for years (seems like) because of his rubbish posts has not been able to learn from his own mistakes. Most decent investors would not continually carry on in the same fashion as you day after day. Todays efforts were really scraping the barrel and your campaign against SD and by connection "thedoors" is a disgrace.
Any one reading "Liams"/ le bugue-addick transcripts of his interviews with SD and SD's answers realise the sincerity/truth of all his thoughts relating to GGP, his Board and all of his investors. This has been clearly evident with all other communications from him in whatever format since he was appointed CEO.
Are you not capable of seeing that or do you have a seperate agenda to the vast majority of investors who use this board?
Plus me
Great optimism Redirons-and why not-This is the first phase starter for 10 sorted at the beginning of our 6 month+ news flow. Great ride to come from SD and the BOD. Currently excited and keeping rude health.
What's not to like.
GLA
First drills- High Grades found-top notch explorers are GGP and you still have the dumbos selling their shares for their own ends. They will deserve all the ill health they will get.
Who thinks they will get Havieron or GGP, Newcrest, Newmont or the whole of Western Australia - Pilbara, Ernest Giles etc, etc for a pittance?. They sure are barking up the wrong tree. Every GGP true investor knows the score and the future path we are on.
GLA and a secure future for all true investors..
Life has its' sadness's but time is the healer. Keep strong Dip.
Tygra,
Interesting, maybe the the partially outlandish part of the question was framed in such a way to give Shaun the opportunity to demonstrate and talk about his immense knowledge of the Corporate side of things and his corresponding planning for all eventualities, Rather than a direct question. IMO It confirms to all investors the confidence that we have in SD.
Great to see Bamps picked this up (Corporate) in his brief report earlier.
Eagerly waiting for the transcript of the events as my hearing not too good.

As usual most of the trades now showing up as sells are indeed buys. So much for MM,s and reporting procedures on AIM.
The manipulators are also very busy today with their silly genuine sells.
They must be the the biggest dumbos striving to reverse the inevitable tide of what's to come for GGP in terms of SP upward movement and also are they just trying to discredit SD?.
we have seen a few on here this morning.
GLA as it all comes together and we shake off the detractors..
re Newmont/Newcrest & Havieron,
Earlier today I have posted a question for SD ie
"It was mooted some time ago that Canadian miners were looking to increase their long term mining reserves as well as trying to achieve the status of being the number one Miner in the world, particularly Newmont who want to retain that status. Does he believe that Newmont, with their offers to take-over Newcrest are thinking of mothballing Havieron for their future long term reserves whilst capitalising on the other Newcrest mining assets in the shorter term"?
The wording may be slightly different as I did not keep a copy of the original question.
Just general thoughts, will Newcrest therefore try a raised 3rd offer to achieve this?
Or will they approach GGP with some sort of takeover deal/tie up with an added sweetener to Newcrest? We must not be surprised by whatever happens.
If any or all of these thoughts are unlikely to occur (either not planned or not possible to achieve) then I ask "will a mysterious party appear out of the woodwork"? or will the hammer on the SP be merely institutions getting what they can prior to future events?.
My opinion is still to sit tight and believe that we are still in a win/win position with SD and our enhanced board acting for us.
GLA and we will see what the next few days bring.
Thanks for enquiring Redirons - Would loved to have attended but the change to an evening venue was not so good for me. Next one will be fine as lighter evenings kick in. Lights from oncoming vehicles etc play havoc and its a fair way from the forest - flickering my blood thinned mind off course at times - one of the minor irritations of being in the late 70's. Still extremely active though and currently in stable good health (still swinging axes and digging garden and exploring the old forest (Dean)). Will look forward to meeting all the friendly Stroud gang and others again.
Keep well and hope the coming arctic snow is not too bad for you.
Not been posting much these days- Just waiting for the 9th to start with, for some actual facts from SD and loads of other important news due at any time soon. Incoming takeover attempt of Newcrest by Newmont started muddying the waters-lots of current speculation on various alternatives but I prefer to ignore it all and just wait (maybe a longish wait) but will continue to believe we are in a win/win situation. The Impending start of production at the moment I regard as the main delivery day and I have every confidence that SD and the board will guide us through all that is thrown at us in the meantime and the wait will be rewarded.
GLA genuine investors.
My ailing computer system finally gave up ghost (hard drive failed) so been out of it since the 8th.
Sadly, looks like nothings changed- we are still getting hammered. Think I won't look back at last 2 weeks or so. Only look forward-too much to do as it is.

Saints7,
I concur completely with your thoughts and Liams prowess as an interviewer.
It all makes my daily struggles over several years (particularly the last 18 months or so) to try and understand the overall game play and most importantly the end game really worth the effort.
Now with the help of the many more knowledgeable and brilliant investors on this board
we are well on our way and the future for GGP in whatever format is ever brighter.
GLA.
Redirons and all,
Great Posts.
Have only just started catching up with news after a busy week. So things are moving- probably at pace.
Initial reaction is to sit tight to see how everything plays out but love the boards appointments by SD- He will be on the ball whatever so I think the long term positive outlook will bring rewards to Greatlanders regardless. Exciting times.
GLA.
Chuffchuff,
Excellent post.
SD has done so much for fighting for us all when necessary and when the scenario changes it is the measure of the man that he can see sense enough to change course for our overall long term good.
Keep the faith all along our journey. It will be worth it.
GLA
avo333,
This company is no joke. Would Gervaise have got us 30% of Havieron in just 2 years against the might of Newcrest and be within sight of 1st production and a lucerative income stream for the very long term with a low cost base and a quick payback (IMO) of 2 -3 years or thereabouts. OK Newcrest or others could try and take us out but it would now cost them lots and lots. Shaun is building us into a big mining player of the future.
Most of us know that and are fully committed to this share.
