Update shouldn’t be far off...
Useful to know.
Website publishers like CPM advertising because they get paid for just displaying ads. However, because CPM rates are low—the $2.00 rate mentioned above is fairly standard—a website needs robust traffic to make decent money from CPM ads. Rates for social media advertising, however, tend to be higher. For the fourth quarter of 2019, the average social media advertising CPM was $6.78.1?
I’d say....
With a second lockdown coming and winter knocking on the door, what else is there to do?
Where are advertisers going?
Online where everyone else is.

The right approach to advertising within a game itself is one of natural integration – brand involvement should be immersive, resonant, targeted and meaningful. Collaborations must not feel jarring, and ads shouldn’t interfere negatively with gameplay. Billboards in a driving game make sense; so do real-world small businesses in Pokémon Go, or Mercedes-Benz karts in Mario Kart 8. The same applies to the NFL’s football-themed emotes, harvesting tools and gliders in Fortnite, which fuse offline and online entertainment properties.
Is pushing its spending to online games
Sometimes it pays to be the biggest and the first. This is how Bud Light has established itself in one of the fastest-growing sectors in media — esports.
While the beer brand isn’t the only big advertisers in esports, it is one of the more pervasive. Over the last five years, Bud Light has sponsored some of the biggest properties in the category such as League of Legends and NBA 2K.
And now, doubling down on esports, it has created its own.
Earlier this week, the advertiser launched ‘Battle of the Best’ on its Twitch channel where some of the platform’s top streamers and personalities will compete against each other in a medley of games between Sept. 1 and Sept. 4.

Pubguard appoints Curran and Ngai to leadership roles
Andy Curran has been named Chief Executive Officer and Alan Ngai as Chief Operating Officer at Pubguard, a malvertising platform subsidiary of Bidstack.
Curran will focus on positioning the company as the most agile platform to respond to the evolving threat landscape. He joins Pubguard’s leadership team from Bidstack, where he was Head of Growth and responsible for scaling up and aligning the development and commercial teams within the group.
“Pubguard is one of the most recognised companies in its space and has brought great value to Bidstack’s in-game offering since the acquisition last year,” Curran commented. “The company has now been fully integrated into the group, ready for a relaunch, and this coupled with the recent shift in market dynamics means now is the perfect time to ramp up and scale to fulfil its massive potential for growth.”
Ngai will lead on Pubguard’s day to day operations and business growth. In tandem, he will continue to lead the programmatic product development side of Bidstack’s in-game offering.
“Having worked in ad tech for almost 10 years, the Pubguard role is a unique opportunity to help tackle an ongoing issue that has plagued the industry since I started working in the programmatic space. I’m excited to be a part of this company’s future successes,” Ngai said.
