Pitick TCP is referring to me picton. Can't get that right and his regurgitation of what I said is inaccurate as well. The post was also entitled My last word!!!!! Ummmmm. I would not bother to have his posts taken down as the statements he makes are a testament to his intelligence knowledge and experience for all to see.

I have always found the comments of Dr A polite, tolerant, honest and credible and backed by facts with provisos where necessary. Have been a bit disturbed by the personal attacks especially on his credibility and alleged connections based on nothing but conjecture. Look forward to your continued postings Dr A

Totally Agree Wolves just referring to previous comment on Maldives. Countries have been doing it everywhere and there is the big floating rubbish heap in the Notch Pacific alleged to be larger than some countries. It really a dire situation the world is waking up to but a bit late I think. Sad to see turtles and fish with plastic bags around them!!!

The Maldives is made up of over a thousand Islands of which only about 180 are habitable. Thilafushi Island (Rubbish's Island) was used as a landfill to deal with the mountain of rubbish from the main Island Male. It failed as it was mismanaged and the waste leaked out to see including asbestos etc. It was due to be cleaned up by an Indian Co but that fell through. I have scuba dived off a couple of the Islands a few years ago - not spoilt by rubbish as but the hotels had to get rid of their rubbish by boat as they were not allowed to dump it into the sea. Really sad though as it is a beautiful place. There is a new strategy apparently but will have to see if it works. Certainly needs some real positive action as well as plastic waste disposal as there is a lot!!!!

An interesting article on production of carbon emissions from waste plants. Plastic was mentioned -
