Rubey, let me put that accusation about my outlook on Extinction Rebellion to bed.
Whilst this is a 'free' country and still a democracy, I see no problem in peaceful demonstrations which do not disturb others going about their lawful lives. When these degenerate into illegalities then I personally would like to see the (scrapped) water cannons brought back into use. From what I have seen with reference to those supporting E.R the water should be mixed with a heavy concentrate of soap.
Yet this should not let potential investors be blind to the facts that by far the greatest oil usage is in transportation and the manufacture of plastics (and we all know where that is heading). Whilst some investors in oil obviously have another view, the proposed infrastructure investors that will need to come aboard should the W.N be a successful find, will have another view, that regarding time and outlay, and the rapidly gaining transition to alternative energies. What will be the payback and will it be economically sound? Those running a business will understand all this.
