Hi Mike nice to see you back in this parish.
No farmers at the AGM this time but it was a hoot as usual, I’d recommend anyone to buy a few shares just to be able to attend!
Re Burgundy I agree, and don’t forget they have an even wealthier and ambitious parent…
Moneymaker - agree - this is for the best for both companies, Vast have bigger and far more pressing (indeed, survival) issues to deal with, though we as BOD holders should acknowledge that Vast's involvement last year (when their financial position was less parlous) enabled a deal on Ghaghoo to be done at all, and at a price which reflected at the time when the diamond market and diamond prices were substantially weaker than they are today.
Judging by the bod's comments at the AGM last week we can expect a new deal 'imminently' (hate that word!) with a stronger partner and Ghaghoo will proceed to quickly fulfil its promise to become a very significant producing asset.
Yes, in a bizarre way it's for the best, roll on a new stronger partner (and who knows maybe a better deal all round for BOD).
I thought a very good presentation by James (as usual).
They were very specific re intent to become a producer, starting with Thorny and Ghaghoo, then KX36.
As Itacon says, there was quite a bit of reference to Ghaghoo, which was interesting and unexpected (for me at least), I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t have done if something wasn’t about to happen with it (with Vast or with someone else maybe, if that proves necessary…?). The ways in which they plan to overcome the issues which caused Gem to shut it down were outlined and the proximity to KX36 highlighted, how it slots in more or less next door bringing huge economy of scale and efficiency benefits.. There is clearly a well advanced Plan B for Ghaghoo, so even if the Vast deal falls away it is unlikely to be the end of the project (and who knows maybe on more favourable terms).
TR/Mars - making the right noises about grades and they are working on a commercial model (which they presumably wouldn’t be doing if the grades aren’t up to it) and clearly excited about the additional blows - from which any additional revenue would basically fall through to the bottom line.
Also a few hints re Maibwe - sounds like a resolution may be very soon. It's a longer term prospect but could be a monster too.
It’s all taking a while but now all coming together nicely. Looks like a very exciting year ahead.
Hilton Hotel Paddington Thursday 27th at 11am. I gather all the 162 group guys will be there.
Anyone else going to the AGM next week?
RNS with conversion of warrants, £178k received by the Company. By my calcs that's pretty much all the warrants from that issue now converted. Onwards...!
Your last sentence sums it up Pecten. I think we know JC would not release punchy headlines, and wouldn’t be now be considering mining options (as stated) if he didn’t believe it was economic. I gather that the grade assessment should be pretty straightforward with not much, if any, drilling required.
2m tonnes - that’s twice the size of Marsfontein, guys!
Plus 4 more blows identified.
Interview with JC from yesterday in case folk haven't seen it. Plenty of interesting comments about TR, Ghaghoo, KX36, Maibwe and Sekaka.

Pauly I merely answered the question because I happened to know the answer, when investing I take note of that sort of thing, too many AIM companies are just gravy trains for directors. In the real world £30k IS about the going rate for nonexecs. I completely understand lth frustration here (I too am underwater) but it’s also a fact (and not a ramp!) that this is currently valued by the market at less than some shellcos (and is arguably better constituted). As for having multiple identities, I really don’t have time or inclination to engage in that sort of nonsense, in fact rarely comment on anything at all anymore, even as GreenDog.
RiseandShine while I agree re being 'realistic' on these points, but firstly if you look at the annual report the directors have been taking £30k fees each which is hardly a lifestyle business (though they have accrued unpaid salaries over the years but that's another matter). Secondly, while Bolivia, Ghana etc are all interesting and carry all sorts of huge potential, with a Mcap of circa £2m and presumably around £500k of cash, and no debt to speak of, there are AIM listed cash shells with higher valuations!
As someone on andorher board posted earlier, I’ve not seen JT make such a positive statement, Thorny clearly has capacity to give wave after wave of gpod news. And, I gather, with Subterrane out there working their magic as we speak, things could get even more interesting sooner rather than later.
Dutch - what about the millions of motor vehicles produced in South America and Mexico every year,
with rapidly growing incidence of electrification…? They’ll be needing plenty, and at a guess if possible would probably prefer not to ship it over from, say, Cornwall(!) or Eastern Europe?
Yep, as expected - and warrants at 2p is a show of confidence in my view. Roll on the next news!
‘Following outside interest in Vutomi’… Interesting!I wonder who and what they were offering
Yep. That’ll do nicely. And great to hear them already talking of commercial mining (open cast). Sounds like Johnno and James are going mining!

Jonny I don’t have time or inclination to argue the toss but don’t disagree that it’s big and it carries risk, not least re Vast’s ability to fund even the relatively small amounts required to buy it and get it moving. However personally I believe it has massive potential. It’s going to be v interesting to see what happens.
I know I'm a lone voice in the wilderness in thinking that Ghaghoo may be rather better than just someone else's black hole problem child, but I urge folk to have a watch/listen to this new video/podcast by BOD/James Campbell which gives a very interesting overview of his views on it, plans for it and its potential - from 12.02 onwards for those not interested in BOD itself!
