Sheltie: Yes, I clocked that. Jefferies prefer RR over BAe Systems. As last week BAe hit recent highs, it seems they rate a BUY for RR to still hit their high price target. That’s a Big Positive. I expect American buying to lift RR shares to new highs !

Jefferies ups 390p RR Target (from 310p) should help lift the shares. I wish for American buying when USA markets reopen today.

I did BUY back In. Took profits at 319p & hopefully go back to 325p highs to test the chart highs. The fact it did not below 300p is a plus. So my thinking it swings the other way. FOMO buyers likely to buy in now me thinks

I agree RR 22nd results need to be stand out blow out. That’s hyped into the share price. If not, then expect big share falls. 50/50 Take your chances.

Maybe start of steep RR share falls. Nervousness, results coming. Any misread of the results will follow big share falls. That’s a big risk to take for me. So I’m glad I took my profits!

I Did Sell at 319p but missed the top. I think when everyone thinks it’s a one way bet up, then it may not be. So better to take profits. So now maybe flip to a big downside share fall. I’m cautious as a larger market correction may follow, DYOR.

Yes blips up, boops down prices. Still RR has generally higher highs, higher lows. So today’s highs should be taken out sooner than later with pre results getting nearer. Here’s hoping for the best

Maybe It’s Goldman Sachs Effect ! Last weeks Conviction Buy. See 320 plus on more American Buying. Obviously some profit taking going on now. Once selling reduces, the Buys take over.

Announced Dec 2023 - Turkish Airlines orders 220 Aircraft with RR engines. That’s just one of their customers! RR is Airbus only seller of the wide bodied engines. So the Airbus order book does have substantial benefits for RR. Airbus and Rolls-Royce have today announced they have been picked by Turkish Airlines to supply the carrier with 220 new aircraft.

The planes, a mix of A321 and A350 models, will be manufactured by Airbus for the most part in the UK, with the engines supplied by Rolls-Royce. The 70 A350 aircraft will be powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, which are assembled and tested in Derby, and are 25 per cent more efficient than similar models.

I can see RR shoot back up past 312p, into 350’s p. What matters is its core aero engine business is in great shape. That what’s main profits contributor. Airbus back orders are huge which benefits RR substantially. I expect further improvements as RR is a cyclical play, cyclical upswing currently. The talk of SMR is only one small part of RR. So wait it out, keep shares and trade some shares my way of thinking.

Maybe right sell RR near term. That looked like a dead cat share bounce up 312p. I say trade RR as weeks to go for results and this time downside price action likely. Risk off share trades for now especially as Middle East conflict flaring back up.

I really can’t believe it’s big share sale trades. That’s Today post trading RR trades. It maybe error with thisismoney site. As Beremberg is not overly influential broker as people say on this chat board. Also, It would be crazy to take RR profits before an expected share price rise build up to February trading results. That’s a little odd & I see no RR downgrades to trigger large share sales. Unlike today’s retail sector downgrade hitting the big food retailers. Let’s hope RR catches up with the Footsie rise of today as maybe it’s a case of sector rotation as BAE was also down today with RR.

GE Aerospace expects adjusted revenue* to grow low double digits or more, operating profit* of $6.0 billion to $6.5 billion, and free cash flow* of greater than $5 billion. GE & RR are mainly wide body engine manufacturers. So lower sales revenue growth at GE Aerospace could be a trend in the industry. Just don’t know. I guess that’s why share prices of both are falling. GE shares down today.

RR Share Falls. I see reported weak GE guidance civil wide body aircraft. That’s a concern. With RR at near highs, this maybe start of a bigger correction. You know if GE can fall 6% on results, RR could maybe fall. These RR Feb results will be ultra scrutinised. Depends what RR says if seeing weakness with client contracts. There are doubts now, no one way up bet. Then you got broker SELL cautions weighing. Each to their own how they view this new situation but I’m not a buyer at these prices yet.

Trellis: Maybe profit taking lasting for weeks to come. Just people booking profits as some stock makers at their highs. Also war conflict in The Middle East and higher inflation resulting from this is a concern. I think the markets are still factoring these in and may go down more.

RR Down. Trading range bound shares, up 310p to 290’s p. Tried to 310p yesterday, failed to hold and so down now. I kept powder dry, so would like to buy more shares if 290’s p. I’m just disappointed at no RNS newsflow on big order yet? At the moment RR profit takers dominate but hopefully things will change soon.
