RE: argue about Brexit8 Oct 2018 13:31
Good morning, Myo. Yes, I do look in here. And to be honest, I’m starting to think that perhaps I should make it the only place I bother looking in on. The main board is becoming something of a joke imo. As much as I don’t care for the ignorance and bigotry of the SL/LL construct, and Alan’s myopic approach to anything other than his own singular point of view does grate, I do respect their right to an opinion as long as it is not deliberately offensive or inciting prejudice. I am becoming increasingly fed up however with the pathetic, intolerant little tits on the main board who wish to censor anything and everything that they have no wish to read though. The most lamentable aspect being that they probably don’t even contribute to the community themselves other than to get their silly red crayon out to censor anything that doesn’t fit with their opinion of what is or, isn’t acceptable. No doubt they’d rather mine the board for anything of interest to themselves, without regard the views or opinions of anyone who might actually make the effort to contribute to the discussion. As such, I’m uncomfortable with them taking anything that I say they deem useful, whilst at the same time, being able to still my voice over anything they don’t. It’s just not British!
I think open minded discussion of the type that draws out considered opinions demands that we allow people to express themselves (within reason) without let or hindrance. A community functions best when people feel a part of it. And I’m getting increasingly intolerant of the intolerance being wielded almost daily next door. As I feel people should be at liberty to chat about anything, rather than ‘argue about Brexit’ is there a possibility this board could be renamed something like Sirius (or ANYTHING else)? Or something similar anyway? I might not bother with the main board at all then. And anyone posting or reading here, will know that they can do so without someone else telling them what they can or cannot discuss (within the law, of course!).
Regards,
