Thanks sixgr.
It seems that Zeus Capital has Bango as one of its top picks for 2003. Does anyone have access to this and if so could they summarise what was said in the article ?
There has been a significant increase in headcount at Bango just before the 2021 year end and the first few months of the year 2022, perhaps as much as a 50% increase. This is not obvious from the accounts as average headcounts over the year are reported. The growth in headcount will enable Bango to extend their markets including into new geographies and to develop new products and product improvements. The downside is that the new staff are not that productive when first employed so at the half year the EBITA was lower than some people expected. I would expect it to be low at the full year. Growth in sales may should be higher than expected. 2023 will show significant improvement in revenue and profitability.
The following is an answer given by Paul Larbey at the AGM:
A) Paul Larbey: “Employee engagement levels are very high, well above industry norms. We published our employee engagement survey results in the annual report and are conducting this year’s survey at the moment. High employee engagement is a key strength for Bango as it means attrition is very low. That’s great because when we’re recruiting, we’re recruiting to grow, not to replace. We also have the natural benefit of being a platform business, so we don’t have to increase people proportionally to our growth. We need great people to help us grow, to develop new things that we can sell to customers, to bring in new customers but the growth is not limited by people. Recruitment is progressing extremely well, we are able to attract good talent, motivate them and engage with them. Recruitment is harder and often slower than it was two years ago, but it is still happening. Last year, we hired in excess of 40 people and, so far, this year we have already hired 26”.
Lots of positivity

As stated in the 2021 Annual Report, during the pandemic Bango terminated the lease on its Westbrook offices. These offices were too small and restricted Bango’s ability to expand.
When working from home was discontinued Bango hired temporary office space where this year’s AGM was held.
In the near future Bango will settle on more permanent offices.
The Annual Report for 2021 shows headcount of 88, an increase from the previous years figure of 78. These are average figures for the year. The rise to 88 was brought about by recruitment towards the end of the year. After the year end the recruitment of new staff has continued.
I would guess the actual headcount is now between 120 and 130.
The business is clearly doing well as the growth in headcount is needed to support existing and future business.

Bruce you are correct. The NYSE system is similar but the requirements are spelt out in more detail and it is not called RNS.
My understanding is the deal is with T-Mobile US rather than T-Mobile in totality. T-mobile US is a separate entity from T-Mobile Germany. Please could you confirm the deal is with T-mobile as a total entity. If it is T-mobile US we are looking at about between 5 and 6 million subscribers. Quite a difference. Bango has a history of not being precise with its information.
I agree with you. The forecasts are very conservative given that the three main strands of the business are beginning to take off. For some time Bango has maintained a fairly constant headcount but now they are recruiting to exploit the abundant opportunities that are opening up.
I would like to correct the misinformation that appears on another board. Bango is listed only on AIM. The OTC arrangement makes it easier for US citizens to buy and sell the UK listed shares. This is important because Bango shares qualify for inheritance tax relief provided that they are held for two years. This is an important benefit for me and I would assume some of the board members. If the shares are listed in another exchange then they would no longer benefit from this relief.

I believe the decision indicates what will happen with many MNOs. The MNO's have a dominant position as they control the payment processing. Google demands an unreasonable fee for its play store service. Verizon are simply changing the balance. Eventually many of the functions of the play store will be taken over by the MNOs. A number of games producers have changed to using the Steam platform to avoid paying huge fees to Google. Eventually when just about everyone has a 5G connection, Games will also migrate to the MNO's platforms.
The consumer of streamed content wants choice. Satellite technology will be less flexible and more expensive than the MNO alternative so that too will migrate. Bango is in a good place !
I find it difficult to believe Bango is not involved.
