Hotshot. 'Glowing in the dark'. Don't remind me ! 'Every day's a learning day' as they say but I didn't realise I was buying private education …...
Following Novaro's link this afternoon I finally got off my rear end and mailed my local MP, Robert Goodwill and Jake Berry the Minister for Northern Powerhouse. In essence, I asked if they had/would also bring pressure to bear on any relevant Government Department to support the project. Whilst I anticipate a fairly (somewhat cynically) typical, non committal, MP's response I take the view that if one does nothing then that's the best one can expect ! Happy to share any replies.
The scene of a much misspent ( but highly enjoyable ) youth, almost 50 years ago ! Used to work a couple of doors away and seemed to end up there most evenings.
Verde. Buckingham Arms in Petty France by any chance ?
I fix Tesco tills and PC's in HU and YO postcodes. At least I try to !! I get paid ,allows me the occasional top up so 'every little helps'. I'm not in LL's league, obviously, but that's fine by me.
mail12. Thanks for that link. It's great to hear about local people being employed. So many times in the corporate world one hears similar promises made yet unfulfilled. For me, a heart warming read on many levels.
Verde. Just wait for the planning application to be made then the opportunity to object will arise. I'm certain there's enough locals on this board to make you aware when the application has been submitted.
Jof. A good find - many thanks.
Good to see you and LL both singing from the same hymn sheet then …..
I can only second that Scotty. With Recklessferret back on board and Chesh for their contributions can only make this place better !
Great to heat that Bluebottle and her Silverfox are both good. My regards to them both also if you'd kindly oblige to pass them on.
coz LL, most people here are more interested in the arrival of the TBM than the future arrival of Krug post March 29th.
SL. Out of interest do you not find it a tad boring being right ( by, seemingly, your own measure ) all the time ?
Golfer. Maybe just a comment to keep the Company in the public eye ? The Times ( as opposed to the Sunday Times ) have always been very supportive of SXX with many reports made on RNS announcements. That said The Sunday Times have never been less than supportive with a view on the Northern Powerhouse. Bearing the above in mind, McCrum is from the FT and a different publishing house. You takes yer pick in that scenario !!
Hi BB. Good to see you back here. I'll be joining you with a glass of red later too.
Hi Sheps. Yep, still lurking and still an avid reader ( apart from the B word debate ! ). Many thanks for last night's reply. Good to hear that the local accommodation providers are benefitting.
All the best. PB.
Casapinos. I recall attending a Planning Meeting at Scarborough in February 2015 where the application for construction workers' temporary accommodation at Stainsacre Lane, Whitby was approved. Since then I've heard no more. I'd be grateful if you could ask if the accommodation is still required or might it be a saving ?
Happy to be corrected (and apologies if posted previously) but it seems that we're waiting until 2020 for a hearing.

... seems to be working overtime. We even got a mention in today's Sunday Times Homes Section (of all places) with the mine being one of the economic attractions of living in Scarborough. Keep up the good work guys !!
As the saying goes 'Only invest what you can afford to lose'. Different levels for different people I guess.
Happy to be corrected but I believe that any prices for Poly4 are quoted as being FOB at Teesside and any transportation costs are borne by the buyer.
