The one thing I would say about the timing which is obvious...Whichever way it goes on Friday, you will not have any chance on Monday morning to buy or sell quickly !! As a long term holder I believe CBG will return to business as usual and hence the SP back to Nav or near. I have regretted selling early so many times, particularly with rolls. I won t be making the same mistake again. If the Sp does drop on after Friday which I doubt but it could, will no one buy in to it ?? I think they might. The legals have all been covered.... in short no one apart from the unsophisticated wants the banks and wider economy to get screwed, and the COA law does not fit the situation. Roll the 'loaded' dice !!

Chid ... CBG did not have a choice in selling assets, stopping divis, they had to prepare for a worse case scenario no matter what out come any legal experts suggest may happen.

Strange thing is if the ruling is in CBG s favour ( which it wont entirely ) who pays for all the damage done to banks Mrs Hopcraft ! Lol she only 'lost' 184 quid

Re timing : here will be a massive impact to either consumers and their leaches or to the banks involved in equal measure whichever way the ruling goes, perhaps for both. But will there be a massive impact on every sector of the economy involving commissions - that s the big quesstion !

On the positive side the govt have suggested they are willing to retrospectively change law in the banks favour whatever happens - so you would think that the market would like this.

Could it be that Reeves et al have re introduced the intervention spin to put Labours name to a sensible outcome ?

- [ ] Where is the consumer loss, no sums added after contract made, (unlike plevin) no change to interest rate post contract . Where is the loss ?…choice removed?….

- [ ] Consumer still had a choice to get own loan but chose not too

- [ ] Apart from excessive comms, comms were as per conc rules

- [ ] Non excessive hidden coms still as per conc And widely used IN ALL INDUSTRIES WORLD WIDE

- [ ] Vanquis already won first round to claim for nuisance cmc claims

- [ ] Govt intervention threat twice

- [ ] Fca supports wrongful coa ruling

I was expecting sideways action in sp at mid 200 ,s till sc hand down, so 400 plus ! I ll take that

What next?

- [ ] Cbg might have a large chunk of 480 mill to play with …buybacks and divis

- [ ] Cmc s get crucifed.. fca redress and nuisance claims legal action

- [ ] Uncertainty removed, divi return, institutions back into cbg, sp back to nav

Don t forget unlike say lloyds cbg have a low share count hence a nice divi distribution when it returns…. For those who bought in pre 250 s like me …life changing .

I too worry anout the next gen. But rather than knockin the walls back to brick til the early hrs on a do er upper, they are too worried about gender / sexuality and would rather spend a grand on drug fueled festivals, and recording it on a 1k device for insta . Choices choices !

SG0911 - Not just with this share but others it is generally getting to the point where going to work is preventing me earning way more than careful trading / investing and I mean WAY more, but bit scary doing nothing else. But i suppose I m making a difference to lives, not that they will give a sh.t when I am too old to enjoy life !! lol

I agree liberty. I was luckiy enough to buy many more shares from nov 24 onwards than incould a year ago in a great company which has an excellent record of consistent profits / divis/ prudence. This should pay me a divi income of somwhere between 40 and 70 k per year. Name one other company AT THIS PRICE which will do that

Those shares have done well. Similar divi but did nt suspend it

The sp is at trading in the lowest range it has been for years. I cant see it tanking but at this stage in proceedings i d put half in now and half after ie on judgement day if good or at a low if bad result. Either way generally ,things can only get better long term… ride the wave.. the divi will return.. why wait till you can only buy half as many shares.. it s a gift !
