Seizing land is going to be costly for Russia going forward.. it will be a drag on their economy as they will have to keep a massive army stationed there .. However having a puppet government in control of all infrastructure and institutions makes it a lot easier.. Putin won’t be happy with what’s he’s got .. he wants it all and hence he won’t stop until he is made to

Russia can only “win” this war by installing a puppet government in Ukraine… anything else is a defeat
