Hi all,
just checking in to see if anything is happening here... Not been here for a while due to work, and will probably be missing quite a bit in the coming months... Tired after doing 13 shifts on the trot (my choice). Received an everyday hero award today from North West Tonight for saving someone from committing suicide caused by their fear of isolation with the lockdown... Please, wherever you are and however you may feel, don't be frightened to talk to someone... 'It's ok to be not ok' . Please stay indoors unless absolutely necessary! Take Care one and all... Tony
The problem with Covid-19 is that it is like the flu but everybody is displaying different severity of symptoms and not how you'd think... It's attacking the available lung space we have and we are getting patients who we cannot get an spo2 reading above 50% even when we are flooding them with oxygen due to the diminished lung space available (a bit like pneumonia)... Today, I have treated a thirty something patient who was really ill with it and had spo2 as above and later an 80 year old who had a fever but was holding his own oxygen levels well.... We are learning something new about this virus everyday.... As an impassioned plea, please stay indoors unless absolutely necessary...wash your hands regularly and avoid close contact with others.... If I'm scared of what the next few weeks will bring, then you definitely should be adhering to the above..... The sobering thought is that there will be many people who may not live to see many more weeks... Please Stay Safe and take this seriously... Tony
IMO, If you want Cash, stick it in a bank account and not a share account... I'm here for many K's and not worried in the slightest... Keep the silence/suspension until the Coronavirus thing has settled down and the markets regain some sort of parity...
From A GP Friend...
Don’t panic. Covid19. Here’s what you should know:
Covid19 is basically a first cousin of the common cold. If you’ve had a cold you’ve likely had coronavirus. But covid19 is stronger than most other coronaviruses.
What are the symptoms?
Sore throat, fever, runny nose, cough, shortness of breath, aches and pains, abdominal pain and pneumonia in severe cases.
How does it spread?
Coronaviruses are spread by droplet contamination. This means it’s spread from person to person when we cough/sneeze on one another or when we touch a contaminated surface. This is why coughing in to your elbow and sneezing in to a tissue is so important.
How can I prevent spread?
The virus can’t infect you through your skin. It enters our body through the nose and mouth mostly. So don’t touch your face. Regular hand washing with soap and water is critical. The soap dissolves the outer layer of the virus and kills it. Alcohol hand gel in between hand washing and regular wiping down surfaces is also helpful.
Why are people concerned?
We, as healthcare professionals, are worried about our vulnerable patients. For most people reading this - YOU WILL BE FINE! It’ll be a sniffly headcold. But for about 2-3% of people it will be severe. We don’t have treatments or a vaccine for this yet so it’s making our job of protecting weaker patients more difficult. We’re also concerned about our fellow healthcare workers being out sick and therefore not being able to deliver healthcare effectively.
Who is vulnerable?
People with conditions like asthma, diabetes, cancer, heart disease and anyone who’s on immune suppressing medicines eg. Methotrexate for rheumatoid arthritis. Over 65’s are also particularly at risk.
What can vulnerable people do?
Things like avoiding public transport and avoiding large gatherings can help.
What are GP’s doing to prevent spread?
We’re asking all patients with symptoms to phone first so we can assess over the phone. This helps protect patients in the surgery and healthcare workers.
Do I need a face mask?
No. These masks are for patients and healthcare staff only. You're more at risk by wearing a mask as the droplets stick to the material leading to a greater risk of inhalation.
Hope this helps...
I'm the same as you Flash - Tied up in a SIPP for the next 5 years ( I'm going to put 75% into a safe haven and play with the other 25%) although I do have a few of these that I can access now in my Fund and Share Account - This will hopefully give us a decent holiday and the rest towards our wedding in Las Vegas in September... :O)
We had a great weekend in Warwick Gecko, shame you were away or it would have been nice to meet up.... Have you been to Tasca Dali? Had a great meal there and Highly recommended by us, followed up by a few beers at The Tudor House Inn! And also Bread and Co for a sumptuous breakfast... A great little town to visit. Tony
Thanks for all your comments - I love my job and feel proud every time I put the uniform on... My personal view on life is that we have raised an element of society who think we owe them a living. Physical and Verbal abuse is becoming the norm to the point of where the Ambulance Service is considering Stab Vests and Body Worn Cameras... I feel sorry for my colleagues just starting with the service who have a potential 40+ years to work in this increasingly dangerous environment... I also live just North of Manchester NMS. Good luck to each and every one of you invested here and I sincerely hope we all get the outcome we are looking for... (My wish is only to see this as a share i've actually made a decent profit on as I fell into the UKOG and SXX and DEB trap and lost quite a bit of money..but hey-ho, it's only money..lol) Tony
Good evening my fellow EUA investors.... Just home from a horrendous shift... A child's death spoiled my day... Glad to see it's become a lot more amiable on here. Please can we keep it this way.... Ian, Graeme, Tilly, Elenor, Pompeyrod, Saxonaxe and all the other posters who have kept the forum ticking over in the face of some seriously nasty posts.... If there turns out to be a buyout here, we should all have a meet-up somewhere, would be good to put faces to names... Have a good weekend all... Tony
Lucretius, to add to your comment - What we do know is that the company is long established, has expressed a desire to sell, has massive metal assets that are cheap to exploit, has no debt, has a large credit line available, has a revenue stream from WK and is in talks. We also know that the asset value is increasing daily with the surge in Pd price.
***We also have an agreement in place with Sinosteel to get it out ourselves if any potential asset sale falls through***
It's a win win situation for me, unless someone has been in overnight and mined all the Palladium whilst Russia slept...
