I believe this new technology has been tested by Powerhouse before the construction started last week.
I don't think anyone will take that risk if they are not confident about their technology or may not afford to operate.
The way the process works, it shreds the waste and then heats up to produce syngas — a mixture of hydrogen, methane and carbon monoxide.
Syngas can either be burned to produce electricity, or the hydrogen can be separated out to power fuel cells in vehicles.
I'm sure there will be more Electric and Hydrogen cars on the road by 2025.
Only in UK there is around 5 million metric tons of plastic waste every year and less than a third of that is recycled and others left in landfills.
