Moulding will be rearranging the deck chairs on the HMS THG as it sinks. I’ll probably go down with him to be fair as I’m already so far underwater, it doesn’t really matter 😂
Just like the “inverse Cramer” I also follow the “inverse fool” strategy.
Moulding has blocked me on LinkedIn because I told him some home truths. He had already blocked me on Twitter 😂
Ten Hag I suspect
Once the first brick is removed, it’s only a matter of time before the wall comes down.
i’ve just been catching up and found a post that mm liked on linkedin. thought it was an interesting read if you like putting 2+2 together and coming up with 5. it’s from a corporate finance guy currently working in dubai.
“well it’s nearly two months since i first started work in dubai! despite the weird reason i’m having to spend time in the emirate i felt i should say a few words about the place.
dubai is unique and spectacular for a whole range of reasons. doing business there is particularly fascinating - the ambition of the ruling family to develop the city has been enormous and i find what they’ve been doing to build infrastructure inspirational.
one of the first things that struck me about dubai is the fact that the ex pat community dwarfs the local emirati population! only (roughly) 15% of the population is indiginous! 85% have moved to dubai from abroad! more than half of dubai’s residents are of indian origin, and there are also large ****stani, bangladeshi, iranian, filipino, and western communities. people come from all over the world and benefit from a very beneficial tax rate!
the business community is dominated by the sovereign wealth funds and major family offices who have been acquiring businesses in a range of strategically important sectors all over the world!
the proximity of dubai to the kingdom of saudi arabia is also a major influence on the business community in the uae. the ambition in ksa to build modern infrastructure with projects like the neom development will have reverberations around most of the world eventually - especially with the impact on demand for building products eg steel etc. neom alone is expected to cost over $500 billion (yes billion!)
i learned so much more about new sources of finance when i visited mumbai a couple of weeks ago. the same can be said for dubai and the uae. the business opportunities in this rapidly expanding and fascinating part of the world should not be underestimated and it shouldn’t be a surprise when institutions financed from this part of the world take an increasingly prominent role as investors and buyers of businesses in the uk and across europe
from huge (robot managed!) shopping malls rammed full of very high end designer brands to the incredible property developments all over the emirate, dubai is stunning to the huge numbers of visitors who pass through there! i went up the burj khalifa last night and the view from the top exceeded even the incredible water and fountain shows they put on in downtown dubai next to the tallest building in the world! the burj cost £1.5billion to build!
a friend told me to visit kite beach at sunrise for a good walk! this morning i did exactly that and he was so right! (see photo!)
i didn’t necessarily plan to spend the first few months of my new career at a&m in dubai but i’ve hugely benefitted from my time in the region and it’s been a privilege which i’m grateful to a&m for! “
I used to think Ste2K was a frustrated holder but it has become clear to me that there is more going on. The amount of posts pretty much saying the same thing over and over again are concerning. I am a frustrated holder, l I have been invested since IPO and have averaged down. I have a decent chunk of cash invested so I am inclined to agree with some of the negative sentiment that Ste and some of the others have (I don't count wildtiger) but, just like some of the rampers who post incessantly, it just smells wrong. #fudbusters
I wish THG was sold for 1.3x Revenue!
Probably referring to £2bn revenue. £2bn valuation would be welcome!
@sb10000 Will be interesting to see what come out of the fund allocations exercise. On average, UK pension funds have only 6% allocated to UK equity which is shocking really and a sad indictment for UK PLC because ultimately, if they were getting better returns from the UK, they would invest more but, over the last 10 years, portfolios with a more globally diverse allocation have gained about 140% as opposed to ones with a UK centric allocation which have only risen 40% on average. As a fund manager, why would I invest in the UK when the returns are a lot less? I'm not going to get my £10m bonus working like that!
So just to be clear, wild tiger has been invested long here multiple times before but now it is short, it comes here and basically says the company is going bankrupt. I don’t block people generally but that’s just too much. It’s not even humourous like Goldy.
No more than normal.
Article on Bloomberg also said this;
“The hefty premiums that are being offered for these UK companies highlights the gap between how assets are valued by public markets and by potential buyers.”
There are accounts that post incessantly for months and then disappear. I can spot them a mile off. It’s pragmatic to assume some investors will use this forum as part of any holistic due diligence because there are a lot of knowledgeable posters, however, it isn’t moving the needle so I’m not really sure why they bother with the ramping and deramping.
Crowman is back so that must mean the bottom is in.
The share price is a disaster but THG have planted 2.5 million trees in the last three years so that’ll make my bank manager happy.
Exactly Steve. Always good to know the persons perspective. Mine is one that bought in at IPO so £1.30 is a dream. I’ve averaged down quite a bit since but have made pretty much no money on most of those injections if you take them all individually which is a pretty sad situation. However, don’t feel bad for me as I am heavily invested in the US and am making a decent amount of cash while I wait for Moulding to pull his finger out.
OSG, I read that on Betaville yesterday although because I don't pay them 15k a year, I couldn't see the full article :)
Definitely strange price action when across the board it's pretty red today!
Did most of that volume come in the last few minutes?
