I think for the 3 reasons that Orangetree gives, MRW are seen to be repeating Tesco's mistakes - ironic eh?

I also avoid Banking & insurance sectors,due to Black Swans & scandals, Defence & Engineering as too volitile. I'm into IT (NCC) & Entertainment (MERL) in a small way.

PSON: Not a sector I understand, so I would avoid. Book publishing part is worth zero, IMO - unless you get a Black Swan like JK Rowling. I bought a mining stock when the CEO said they dig metal out of the ground & stuck it on a boat- THAT I understood :) I also avoid Betting/Gambling stocks because just 1 step away from HMGOV legislation, IMO. Pop's dictum - Buy what you understand.

This short-term boost backfires in the long term, & Tesco have now abandoned S&L in favour of outright purchase. MRW still own properties and have low operating lease and rental expenses in comparison with Sainsbury’s and Tesco. Second, average payables are at their highest of 50 days and higher than both Tesco and Sainsbury’s of 34 days and 38 days. Those who remember Tesco accounting scandal would know it's delaying payments to suppliers was the main accusation.

Guys - A canary died in the mineshaft today :) This is a serious question! Orangetree has mentioned 3 reasons shorters might be sticking the boot in following what seems a reasonable RNS - worth discussing, I think.
