Come on hurry up17 Jul 2025 13:57
Launched in February 2025 in southern Mali, the Bougouni project's processing plant is operating at full capacity. More than 40,000 tonnes of spodumene concentrate have already been produced there, ready for shipment to the port of Abidjan, Ivory Coast. However, despite this technical ramp-up, no shipments have yet left the country. The reason: the export permit, an essential condition for activating the trade agreement, has not yet been issued by the Malian authorities. They are continuing their verifications, particularly on pricing mechanisms, to ensure that Malian lithium will be sold at its fair value, in accordance with the international price.
The so-called "offtake" agreement signed between Les Mines de Lithium de Bougouni (LMLB), Kodal's local subsidiary, and Hainan Mining seals a strategic partnership. It commits the latter to purchasing 100% of production for four years, with a minimum of 8,000 tonnes to be shipped per month. The sale price will be indexed to the CIF price of spodumene 6% LiβO, as published on the Shanghai Metals Market, currently around $630 per tonne
