I think the fact that margins are down and a projected consumer slowdown is hitting this share.
Sold half my dixons to gamble on asc yesterday. Done ok with it as I got in under £64. I think they are overpriced anyway so should I sell up and get back to dxns.
Having seen what's happened to asos today, I think even phenomenal results will still not lift this share price above 52-53p. Hope I'm wrong though.
Just to add some positivity. I went in Currys on Saturday and was amazed at how many people were in there compared to Boxing Day . Trying to get a member of staff was a task and the queue to pay was half way down the store.
I have to agree with barclaykid, dixons has got some serious competition. I can't see the sp rocketing anymore as I can see negative trading statements from big retailers and dixons suffering I am particularly disappointed to see how poor the currys sale is. Even Argos seem to have better offers. I had a look round my local currys yesterday to see if the fridge I wanted was on offer. Yes it was, but was more expensive than it was in August.
I don't think many people expected that today. I was suprised they didn't mention much on games console sales in the update or have I missed that. Having seen what happened with SPD last week I sold up at 1% down and came back in near the end of day. Got a few hundred more shares so not all lost. Can see a rebound back to 50p by the end of the week.
Suggestion of 95p bid in link below. This is the daily mails finance website though http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/markets/article-2515233/MARKET-REPORT-Dealers-tuck-Dixons-Retail.html?
Not heard of this offer either. Will take it with a pinch of salt though as the website is part of the Daily Mail.
Let's hope it holds over 50 at the end of the day. If it does I think the long awaited lift off will begin
Pioneer tv's used to be among the best and most stylish. Can't wait to see them. Nice move by Dixons retail.
I was in currys yesterday buying a sonos speaker and have to say I was surprised how busy the store was and people are buying not just looking. The new iPad was very popular. Also glad to see staff who have product knowledge are on the shop floor. This share has only one way to go.
Got a little cupcake ready if we reach the number we dare not mention
Being a relative newbie to the share dealing game, I have to say this is my favourite share and has made me a tidy sum this year to add to my pot. Can only see this going up, they seem to be doing everything right, stores are busy even at this time of year, they are keeping up with the latest tech which is what they were missing IMO . Great advice from people on this board, thanks to them for that.
