Time to jump in, sold M&S this morning.

Couldn't resist buying in at this price. Theres no bad news for M&S, they are rapidly expanding across the UK despite what the economy is doing.

Been a while...First of all good that the Kroger decision has been made so soon, could have been much worse, but its pinned Ocado back for some time now. The compensation will pay for 5 years of lost revenue, in this time they MUST win more contracts. Soon after the lease on Hatfield will expire and this will no longer be a loss and thats a significant amount of money to be saved each year. Time to regroup and extend software and hardware into other markets or merge with another company that already has. Dont expect to see £4:again in a hurry unless they win more work, but they are not dead. Hopefully Kroger will need instore robotics, Tim mentioned this new strategy in a recent interview, perhaps they are working on something already.

Hate it when the trades don't align, sold mid morning as had a feeling it would creep down. These are crazy days with Bitcoin in freefall, there will be some worried PIs out there. Had some good day trading recently but getting too risky now, will wait for US results, reckon there will be some opportunities after the budget....patience! GL

Doordash is mainly local deliveries which they needed, not financially viable to roll out Zoom in US. They are very VERY expensive and have bad feedcack. They will not compete with Ocado both completely different business models, in fact good news for Ocado, small local deliveries not profitable.

Only 1.12% shorts on this atm, one from 1 year ago still holding, could be a huge loss. Bought a few more yesterday 5.85 but will prob trade this for a while.

Lets break this down in simple terms, ISF v CFC. M&S would need to complete 78 shopping baskets per day in every single store FACT. They would then need to deliver to 78 customers per day from every store FACT. To work out if this is cheaper than the CFC solution is impossible to be precise, they both cost money to store and customer. Even Instacart, Uber etc is not cost effective to the customer and you will get older shelf life food, they will not look for the latest, just grab the nearest which is always older. There are pro's and con's, do your research and do not be influenced by others ramps, deramps base it on your research, facts, economy etc. Do not panic the sp will go up again, this is a shorter phase and good for buyers to re-enter. Correct Boyo, there was a break clause for their main HQ, in 5 years time they'll be printing money!

Hatfield has had several owners, but think the lease expires 2029. Can't find any costs associated but Luton is about 3.5m pa for 346,000 sq ft whereas Hatfield is 1.2m sq ft so lease must have been 30 years, same as Erith.

Ita all taken into account, but looks like 50/50 loss shared with MS but some will be written off through the accounts. The SP is rigged and always goes down when theres no news but we know this will pick up later in the year, substantially when Ocado turns cash positive, they have a few more payments in 26/27 which will help.

With apologies, we don't disclose the detail on our individual site leases. We have disclosed that ORL is contracted to pay fees on the Hatfield CFC until 2032.

I received a response to an email I sent to Ocado last week regarding the Hatfield CFC. The fees are payable on this lease until 2032, could be worse but could be better!

IMO It looks like an economic re-set is on the way, also known as a recession! Its quite likely the Autumn Budget will be a nail in the coffin. I have stated before that Ocado is fairly recession proof in terms of not going under everyone needs to eat, they just need to get the marketing right. I think the sp will drift a little lower for the shorters, this may be their last chance to buy but a stampede will push the sp higher and this could be what we need in a recession. Just don't panic, recessions dont last forever and the good times will return. GL all.
