Eurasia Mining PLC (LON:EUA) has applied to explore another chunk of acreage within the Monchetundra project licence area in Russia.

Development of a 2mln ounce platinum and gold project is already in train with engineering contracts in place for open-pit mines at Loipishnune and West Nittis, but Eurasia believes there is a high chance the mineralisation will continue on-strike into this flanks area.

“On receipt of the flanks area exploration license these areas will become high priority brownfield exploration targets, which the directors believe may increase the resources for the project severalfold,” said Christian Schaffalitzky, chairman.

Significant resource potential has been identified over the 8 sq km area in Russian state archives, notably in the Nittis Kamuzhaya Travanya (NKT) Massif area to the north of West Nittis, which contains palladium, platinum, gold, nickel, cobalt and copper.

Miners are often undersell new findings until they are confirmed, as overselling can hit the share price drastically later down the line. It will only take the most cursory amount of calculation to discover that should these findings be accurate, Eurasia is grossly undervalued.

The company said in recent months, it had received a number of inbound expressions of interest from multiple parties interested in acquiring all of, or a stake in, its assets.

Eurasia operates the West Kytlim mine in the Urals, and is also the operator of the Monchetundra project comprising two predominantly palladium openpit deposits.

Monchetundra is considered a world-class openpit deposit that has a palladium-rich PGMs resource base of 15-million ounces with a potential to increase to 40-million ounces.

Monchetundra is located 3 km from Severonickel, one of Norilsk Nickel's largest base metals and PGMs processing facilities, near the town of Monchegorsk on the Kola Peninsula and is fully financed through to production via agreement with Sinosteel.

Positive upward trend expected in the days and weeks ahead.

The planned sale has sparked a lot of investor interest and shares have been rising all of this week, rallying from 18.75 at the end of September to 33.00 today. Now given the overall state of the platinum and palladium market, the interruptions in South African output of PGMs because of COVID and the strong demand from the car industry, PGM prices may have some way to go. A solid operational setup and a positive PGM price picture mean that the miner is well positioned for a very lucrative sale running into several billions of dollars. Strong Buy DYOR

Eurasia Mining Plc is now a profitable company, in fact the world’s largest alluvial PGM (palladium, platinum, iridium and rhodium) and gold producer with its cash costs on the very bottom of the global cost curve. Eurasia has been in production since 2016 on its alluvial PGM and gold deposit, running 2 open pit mines there. On its second bedrock palladium deposit close to the borders of Finland and Norway, Eurasia has now received a final production permit. Land works are already underway at the project which is fully funded via an EPCF contract with Sinosteel, one of the largest state companies in China.

Eurasia Mining PLC (LON:EUA) has officially appointed metallurgical expert Alexander Vasilievich Sushchev as an adviser to the board as it looks to leverage some of its mining assets.

Sushchev, formerly a manager at palladium colossus Norilsk Nickel, will work with fellow strategic advisor Alexei Churakov and investment banks VTB Capital and CITIC Group.

As chief executive of metals producer SMCM, Sushchev helped sell the company to an affiliate of with Rusal.

Eurasia chairman Christian Schaffalitzky said: “I am delighted to formalise our relationship with Alexander, whom I have known for many years.

EUA – Potential Bidders
Whilst many assume Norilsk Nickel (NN) are the overwhelming favourites to purchase Eurasia Mining, other valid options are open and in play.

NN are mentioned in recent EUA RNS, proximity to Monechtundra being an obvious advantage for them. They have all the processing facilities needed just a few km away from the licenced area.

Other firms in the vicinity include Polymetal and Nordgold, they understand the jurisdiction so have to be considered on this basis.

Anglo American have to be considered a strong possibility to make a bid, given the past relationship with Eurasia Mining. Previously they’ve ruled out acquisitions outside South Africa but the recent purchase of Sirius demonstrated a change in approach.

Other global firms such as Glencore who could easily afford a multi-billion offer can be thrown into the mix until such a time as final bidders are revealed.

Chinese influence cannot be ignored on any global asset sale, with the engagement letter with CITIC Merchant an example. Perhaps a state bid via SinoSteel or similar firm.

Many other PGM mining operations exist and would see Monchetundra (MT) and/or West Kytlim (WK) as attractive options to consider purchasing. We should consider South Africa as beset with fundamental issues of power stability, higher than average AISC due to deep underground mining and Covid19 an issue at present with this type of operation. The ratio of Platinum:Palladium at several SA operations is closer to 1, so they would be mining a lot of Platinum to extract a similar quantity of Palladium compared with MT, devaluing one commodity chasing gains on another.

This brings Sibanye Stillwater, Implats, Northam and Lesego to the table of possible bidders. The latter two probably more suited to buying WK as question marks over their ability to afford both MT and WK.

Open Pit mining with AISC around $325/oz makes MT one of the most profitable locations to build a PGM empire. This brings to the table our friends in North America, such as Barrick and Kinross if they wished to consider diversification.

So they would be my top 12 bidders for Eurasia Mining. I don’t expect all 12 to throw in an offer, but it does suggest a potential bidding war until the expert guidance of UBS, ensuring a great outcome for shareholders new and old.
